99th Foundation Day of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar was celebrated under the able guidance of
Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event began with lightning the holy lamp
followed by DAV Gaan. Justice (Retd.) N.K. Sud, Vice President DAVCMC and
Chairman DAV Local Advisory Committee, Sh. Y. K. Sud, Dr. Sushma Chawla, Sh. Surendra
Seth, Sh. Ashok Paruthi and Dr. Sudhir Sharma graced as the guests of the
occasion. Principal Dr. Sareen welcomed all the guests by presenting them green
planters. Principal Dr. Sareen, in her speech, told about the journey of HMV
from Lahore to Jalandhar. While addressing, Dr. Sareen focused upon the
achievements of HMV and said that HMV scored A++ in NAAC accreditation which is
the highest score among other colleges. Dr. Sareen Said that HMV does not only
impart quality education but also inculcate moral values among its’ students.
In his address, Justice (Retd.) N.K. Sud recalled the efforts to educate women
by Mahatama Hans Raj Ji and paid his tribute to such a great soul. On the
occasion, Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, from the Department of Punjabi and Mrs. Lovleen
Kaur, from the Department of English praised HMV with their poetical recitation.
Head Girl of the college presented her views on HMV and shared her experience.
On this occasion, members of Teaching, Non-Teaching and Supporting Staff were
awarded for rendering 25 years of their service to the institution. On this
gala day, the publications Samvad, Artist, Sports and Wellness, Commerce
Insight, Tech Watch and Science Gravity were released by the Departments of
Humanities, Department of Design, Department of Physical Education, Commerce,
Department of Computer Science and IT, and Science respectively. On this
occasion, Dr. Rama Sharma launched HMV Vision. A capacity building workshop on
placement was also conducted by Placement In-charge Mr. Jagjit Bhatia. On this
day, Sufi dance, with the assistance of Mrs. Surbhi, was presented beautifully
by Ms. Jaspreet and Ms. Ragini. Sh. Y. K. Sud sponsored sweets and expressed
gratitude to all. Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Dr. Urvashi Mishra were the
coordinators who made their great endeavours for making the entire programme
successful. On this occasion, members of Teaching, Non-Teaching staff and
students were present.
