Entrepreneurship Development Awarness Camp at HMV



A three day EDII sponsored Entrepreneurship Development Awareness Camp organized by Career Counselling Cell and Commerce Club under DST – NIMAT Project was inaugurated in Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur, Dean Academics, Event Co-ordinator Mrs. Binoo Gupta & Mr. Harpreet and Mrs. Deepshikha  presented green welcome to the resource persons Dr. Ashish Arora, Head of Computer Science Department, GNDU College Jalandhar and Prof. M.J. Karla, a successful entrepreneur. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen encouraged the students to become future entrepreneurs. She said that the college is providing both theoretical & Practical knowledge to start new entrepreneurial setups. She also congratulated EDC and Commerce Club for organising such a great event. Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur, HOD Commerce Deptt. shared success story of Ms. Rachna Puri alumnae of Commerce Deptt who is owing Tech Company & earning yearly profit of Rs. 5 crore. In Technical session I, Dr. Ashish Arora discussed the topic “Business Startups. He said that entrepreneurship is all about being innovative. It is like getting money out of new ideas and has unlimited growth opportunities in the world. He discussed the stages to convert a business idea into a business plan. He gave examples of Uber, Ola, Amazon etc that how business startups become successful by catering to customer unmet needs. In Technical Session II, Prof. M.J. Kalra discussed the topic “Disrupt to Surge.” He said that in today’s world the basic technology is changing which is destroying the existing industries and new industries are forming. There are lot of career opportunities arising due to change in technology. He discussed various examples of the latest entrepreneurship setups like Patanjali, Jio, Byju’s The learning App, Netflix. Mrs Binoo Gupta, event co-ordinator told that about 100 students from various streams participated in the camp. She told that for experiential learning, students will be taken for two industrial visits on Day two of three day entrepreneurship camp. At the end of each session group discussion was conducted and the best performing participants were awarded. Organizing committee of the event included Dr. Seema Khanna, Mr. Gullagong, Mrs. Kajal Puri and Mr. Sumit Sharma. Stage was hosted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Mrs. Karishma. On this occasion Mrs. Meenu Kohli, Mrs. Meenu Kundra, Mrs. Ramandeep, Mrs. Purnima , Mrs. Anchal, Mrs. Kanika, Mrs. Jaspreet, Mrs. Bhawna & Ms. Anjali were also present.
