Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar announce Special Scholarship Award to Children of COVID-19 Warriors

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya becomes the first college to award the Special Scholarship for wards of COVID-19 warriors in support of Mission  Fateh. In the college various schemes like HMV Brilliance Award at Undergraduate, Post Graduate level, Mahatma Anand Swami Shikshit Beti Mission Scholarship, HMV Provide Wings Mission Scholarship, Mahatma Hans Raj Beti Padao Mission Scholarship, Maharishi Dayanand Unnat Beti Mission Scholarship, HMV Anuja Scholarship (Sister Concession), HMV Sports Women ‘Protsahan’Scholarship etc. are implemented on a regular basis to support the education of girls.

While announcing the award, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that HMV feels honoured in paying tribute to the fearless warriors of the pandemic crisis who have risked their lives to ensure our safety. While giving details about the unique social responsibility initiative, Principal Sareen added that it was passed unanimously in the meeting of IQAC that COVID-19 warriors are super heroes and we owe a debt of gratitude to them and HMV will be pleased to take care of the future of their children. A concession of Rs. 5000/- will be given to all such children. Last year, scholarship worth Rs. 1.75 crores were given to the girl students at HMV. It is pertinent to note here that last year more than 50% students of HMV received scholarship to support their education. During lockdown the college distributed masks, sanitizers and soaps to the needy and is continuously working to empower the women.
