The department of Psychology of Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized an International Webinar on the topic
“Psychological First Aid for Maintaining Mental Hygiene in Pandemic” in
collaboration with Bolster Treatment and Rehabilitation Center under the aegis
of IQAC under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Dr. Ramnita Saini
Sharda, coordinator of the webinar series gave an introduction to the theme and
significance of holding the webinar. The Head of department of Psychology, Dr.
Ashmeen Kaur was the coordinator and moderator of the webinar. The Resource
persons were Dr. Deeba Khumar Chadha, Psychotherapist, Atlantic Counseling
Group, Virginia, U.S.A, Dr. Vidhu Mohan, Associate Professor, Punjabi
University, Patiala and Ms. Priyanka Gupta, Associate Manager, Accenture
Services, Hyderabad. Dr Deeba in her presentation citing global statistics of
stress level of students suggested ways to combat anxiety and stress through a
structured routine, balanced diet, adequate sleep and exercise. Dr. Vidhu
Mohan through a very structured presentation stressed upon the Psychological
Capital and harnessing qualities of hope, optimism, self efficacy and
resilience to combat anxiety and stress and emerge as a hero in the pandemic
situation.
Ms. Priyanka Gupta discussed about exercising good leadership
qualities like empathy, unconditional positive regard in
organizational setups for keeping work environment stress free and gave tips
for keeping soul, body and mind healthy. All the questions raised by the
participants were answered very well. It was a very comprehensive and
informative session. Dr. Ashmeen Kaur gave a formal vote of thanks to the
speakers for sparing their valuable time. She thanked IQAC Coordinator Dr.
Kanwaldeep Kaur, webinar series coordinator Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda and the
technical team.
