E-Workshop on BUG BOUNTY at HMV
The Placement Cell of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized e-workshop on BUG BOUNTY by Ansh Infotech in collaboration with PG Department of Computer Science & IT. The workshop started with DAV Gaan. Mr. Jagjit Bhatia, Placement Officer and Incharge of the event welcomed the head of the institute Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, the resource persons Mr. Anshu Aneja, Director, Ansh Infotech and Mr. Mohit Kumar, Security Analyst and Certified Ethical Hacker, Dr. Sangeeta Arora, Head of the Department, Mr. Anil Bhasin, other faculty members and the student participants. The Resource Person Mr. Anshu Aneja explained the concept of Penetrate testing and the meaning of Bug Bounty which is a reward that a person gets for identifying a bug or vulnerability in the computer programme or system. He explained that Bug Bounty programme is a deal offered by many organizations by which individuals can receive recognition for reporting bugs specially pertaining to security exploits and vulnerabilities and Bug Bounty Hackers are ethical hackers who finds bugs for a prize money and they really earn very high. Since today is the online scenario, we are highly dependent on Internet but Internet is the most insecure. That is why it is very important to find bugs in various applications and networks to make it secure. Resource person told that many big organizations like Amazon, etc. are using Bug Bounty to make their applications or websites secure. He also demonstrated the platforms of Bug Bounty like bugcrowd.com and hackerone.com. Mr Anshu also discussed about the harm of bugs on the organizations demonstrating through an open tool Burp Suite. Resource person informed that Bug Bounty is the promising sector and people have earned in millions with the advent of Bug Bounty. The resource person also explained about the various emerging technologies like Big Data, Data Engineering, Data Science, AWS, etc. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen congratulated the organizers of the workshop, In-charge and his whole team for successfully organizing this useful workshop. She encouraged the students to attend such workshops in future also. She said it is one of the features of HMV and its outmost duty also to provide academic excellence to students, to make them ready for being successful entrepreneurs in future so that they can handle any type of situation in life. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen motivated the students and said that apart from gaining financially what matters most is the confidence that is developed in HMV through the training given by teachers. The student participant Vani Middha of BCA shared her views regarding the workshop and at the end, Mr. Gullagong, Advisor Placement Cell and Mr. Jagjit Bhatia, presented the vote of thanks. The faculty of computer science department, the placement cell team, the technical team were also present in the event.
