National Webinar on ‘Explore Physics through Real Life Experiences’ organized at HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School

To encourage students to apply physics to their own surroundings and develop the critical analysis skills in them, HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized National Webinar on ‘Explore Physics through Real Life Experiences’ under the benign guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event commenced with traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by Gayatri Mantra. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen accorded formal welcome to the honourable Resource Person Professor H.C. Verma, Padma Shree Awardee, Ex. Prof of Physics IIT, Kanpur. She also mentioned that it is quite important for the students to understand the laws and rules that govern the physical world and they should focus on studying physics on a deeper level and use the concepts of physics to navigate through everyday life. She expressed her gratitude to the worthy resource person for giving an insight into the physics and related concepts and appreciated the effort for organizing the event. Prof. Dr. H.C Verma laid emphasis on the idea that instead of rote learning, students should focus on thinking first then understand and learn. Prof. Verma also gave original and some interesting examples that were extremely catchy and attracted students’ undivided attention. It is important to note that Prof. Verma is actively involved in social activities by establishing initiatives like Shiksha Sopan and project NANI (National Anveshika Network of India) that encourages school and colleges for participation in NAEST (National Anveshika Experimental Skills Test). The students actively participated in the interactive session after the guest lecture and also learnt a great deal of knowledge and information about physics. School coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal gave the vote of thanks. She expressed immense happiness and contentment for the informative as well as interactive session which will be useful for the aspiring students. More than 600 students and faculty members from all over India participated in the webinar. The moderator of the event was Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur.
