Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya successfully hosted the
National Voters’ Day in association with
District Election Office under the guidance of
Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed the guests by presenting Planters and HMV Planners. In her address Dr. Sareen offered a warm welcome to the guests on the behalf of DAV College Managing Committee. She expressed her delight for hosting the National Voters’ Day consecutively for the fifth time. She congratulated the Co-ordinators Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Mrs. Nita Malik and Co-ordinator Mrs. Alka Sharma for the successful conduct of the event. She proudly announced that HMV has occupied first place in motivating voters. She further said that an aware voter is one who also makes other voters aware and uses the right to vote just fully.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Ghanshyam Thori, IAS in his presiding address expressed his thanks to HMV for being a host to the event. He elaborated that the voting process has undergone many reforms. He also briefed about the fundamental problems faced by the citizens and asked the voters to comply by the oath in practice. A message by Chief Election Officer Sh. Sunil Arora was also telecasted. The District Election Office also honoured Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen for her immense contribution for creating awareness among voters. Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Mrs. Nita Malik, Sh. Vivek Kaura, Sh. Jasbir Singh, Sh. Surjit Lal, Sh. Parminder Singh, Sh. Vivek Joshi, Master Saleem, Ms. Suman Kaur, Sh. Amarjeet Singh, Sh. Manish Aggarwal, Sh. Raju Chaudhary, Sh. Amit Khushwah, Ms. Manmeet Kaur, Ms. Gurwinder Kaur and Raunika also received certificates of appreciation along with organizing team of HMV.
The occasion also witnessed the release of E-epic (e-voter identity card). The gathering enjoyed the voter Jugni song an initiative of HMV and Shamsheer productions. The event concluded with the National Anthem.
