Prof. Dr. Partap K. Pati, Former Head of Biotechnology Department, GNDU Amritsar was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Neelam Sharma Dean Faculty of Sciences and Incharge of C. V. Raman Science Society extended warm welcome to the eminent speaker, all the faculty and students attending the webinar. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen gave virtual floral welcome to Prof. Dr. Partap K.Pati. Speaking on the occasion, she urged the students to ask questions and be curious which ultimately leads to innovation. She also encouraged them to take up research and innovative thinking. Prof. Dr. Partap K. Pati, the speaker of the day, said that the new millennium development goal is to fight against the hunger and to provide good health and healthy environment to human. No environment security and human development can be achieved without addressing the basic issues of health and nutrition. Innovation should ensure improvement in the lives of the poor. He discussed various biotechnology tools and techniques available these days and their applications to solve these problems. He talked about Plant Tissue Culture, Secondary Metabolite production, RNAI Technology, Recombinant Technology . Dr. Seema Marwaha, HOD Zoology gave vote of thanks. She also said that Science and Technology is very crucial for nation prosperity. Dr. Anjana Bhatia acted as moderator.
