Plantation Drive at HMV to mark World Environment Day

 




Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, DD Pant Botanical Society of Post Graduate Department of Botany and Environment club of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized a Tree Plantation Drive to create enthusiasm and awareness amongst the masses for increasing the green cover of our nation. The tree plantation drive was carried out in collaboration with GST Comissionerate, Jalandhar under iconic week celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Ms. Suman Yadav, Asst. Commissioner, Sh. Kimti Laal, Supdt., Sh. Raj Kumar Supdt.,           Sh. Bikram Singh, Sh. Naresh Kumar, Sh. Pawan Yadav, Sh. Manish Yadav,  Sh. Atul Kumar, Sh. Bahadur Singh from GST Commissionerate Office  helped in the tree plantation drive. Indigenous trees like Guavas, Jamun, Pear, Lychee etc. were planted. On this occasion Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen stressed upon the need of conservation and save our floral diversity. Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics and Incharge Environment Club said that we have only one Earth and we must do our best to safeguard it. Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Head, PG Department of Botany said that tree plantation is significant because it is linked to our basic need for good food to eat and clean air to breathe. On this occasion, Dr. Neelam Sharma,          Mrs. Navroop, Dr. Santosh Khanna, Mrs Mamta, Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, Mrs. Veena Arora, , Mrs. Nita Malik, Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur,           Mr. Tarun Mahajan and the entire horticulture staff also planted the trees in the campus.
