Fresher Party
‘Shagufta 2022’ was organized in the premises of HMV Collegiate Senior
Secondary School for newcomer students under the encouraging guidance of
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The main objective was to make every
new student feel connected as an integral part of the HMV family and prepare
them for the challenges of the coming years. The entire program was organized
under the supervision of Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, School Coordinator and Mrs.
Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council. First of all, following the tradition of
institution Chief guest Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen warmly welcomed the esteemed
chief guest Ms. Sonali Sharma, Principal DAV School, Nawanshahr by giving
planter. Afterwards, function was started with lamp lighting followed by DAV
Gaan. In her address, Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen welcomed all and especially
students and gave them her blessings. Then she put light on the party’s title
‘Shagufta’ means blooming which is associated with the development of new
students in HMV. According to her, Faculty members are role models for students
and they work so hard to inculcate talent in them. She prayed to the Almighty
God that all students achieve their goals by moving forward on the path of
progress. Giving meaning to the term like woman empowerment, she said that
women have so much ability that they give their 100% in every field. She told
the students that they have entered HMV with hopes and aspirations so she
assured all that in this institution they will be successful in fulfilling
their all ambitions under the guidance of the teachers and who will turn them
into chiseled diamonds. To make the environment more exciting and enjoyable, modelling rounds were conducted in which the students
enthusiastically participated. Along with this dance, Punjabi, Giddha, Bhangra,
Games, Singing, Mimicry, Comedy etc. were also performed. Mrs. Neeta Malik, Head of Political Science Department,
Dr. Santosh Khanna, Head of Music (Instrument) Department and Ms. Rishabh, Head of Fashion
Designing) played the role ofJudges.In
modelling, students were given different titles.Srishti Jain became Miss Freshers, Girisha 1stRunner-up,
Ruchika2nd Runner-up, Silky Miss Artsy Queen, Jiya Miss Biz Girl,
Rohini Miss Tech Fairy respectively. Principal congratulated and
distributed crowns, planters and prizes among winners. At this occasion, Mrs.
Meenakshi Sayal while presenting the vote of thanks, thanked all the members
wholeheartedly and said that these types of events give confidence and help in
intellectual development of the students, which is very necessary in today's
modern and competitive world. In the end, she motivated the students to get
successful and reach at heights by adopting positive thinking in life so by
this they can make their institution, teachers and parents proud. The stage was
conducted by Sukhmandeep Kaur and Isha Thakur. On this occasion the teachers of
college and school sections were present.
