Vidyalaya organized one day Fact Checking Workshop under Google News
Initiative. The Resource Person was Ms. Khyati Kohli, Managing Director
Truescoop. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Head of Department Mrs.
Rama Sharma welcomed her with a planter. Mrs. Rama Sharma gave her brief
introduction and told the students about the objectives of the workshop. Ms.
Khyati Kohli told the students about the importance of fact checking. She said
that forwarding the message or news without verifying can be dangerous or
harmful. She also told the students about various softwares available for fact
checking. She told that how we can find out the truth behind news, videos or
pictures by using tools available at Google. Around 50 students participated in
this workshop. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen said that forwarding the news after
cross checking is very important. Google tools can be very helpful for us.
Students had an interactive session with the Resource Person. Ms. Priyanka Jain
presented vote of thanks. On this occasion, Ms. Priya Sharma, Mr. Rakesh Behal
from True scoop were also present.
