The
pious love of mother was celebrated euphorically in HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec.
School under the guidance of Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. On this occasion,
the Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen feels proud to be a woman and
conveyed her heartiest wishes on Mother’s Day. She elaborated beautifully to
celebrate every day the feminine power of nurturing and nourishing. She
emphasised on the profound cultural heritage of India in which we never negate
the affection and love of mothers and pay them obedience on all days, not just
on one day. A mother is like the protective armour who preserves us from all
the afflictions of life. She inspired young girls to take a pledge that with
little efforts of providing helping hand to their mothers and with positive
gestures they celebrate the essence of festivity. To mark the moment, a card making,
declamation and poem recitation competitions were also organized. Students
prepared alluring and exquisite greeting cards showing their oodles of love
towards their mothers. The cards were really a piece of immense love in which
devoted and serene picture of mother was presented in the various forms like of
flower, an angel, a nurturer, the best companion and so on. The cards showed
the beauty, gratitude and compassion of the relation of mother and a child. The
card making competition was adjudged by the worthy judges – Ms. Upma Gupta and
Ms. Julie. The soul felt and extremely eloquent poems were recited dedicated to
selfless love of mothers and speeches were delivered covering the power and
dedication of mothers. The poem recitation and speech competitions were
adjudged by- Ms. Anuradha Thakur, Ms. Renu Walia and Ms. Rashmi Sethi. The
efforts of the students gained great applause from everybody. They
also expressed their heartwarming feelings and emotions for the Principal and
school coordinator for their efforts to make them developed as thoughtful human
beings. In poem recitation the first position was attained by Manya Chawla of
SSC 2 (Humanities) and declamation contest was won by Rabjot Kaur of SSC 1 (
Medical). The card making competition was won by Ridham of SSC 1 (
Commerce).The school co- coordinator Mrs Arvinder Kaur felt elated with the
talent shown by the students and appreciated their creativity. She inspired
them to lend helping hand to their mothers not only on this special day but
throughout their lives. The stage was conducted by Ms Sukriti Sharma. All the
faculty members of collegiate section were present and graced the event.
