The
Student Council of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in collaboration with Fashion
Designing and Political Science Departments celebrated Independence Day. The
students of Student Council prepared Handmade tricolor badges and distributed
tricolor sweets to the HMV family. Ms. Kris Sondhi recited a poem on
Independence Day. The students of Fashion Designing department under the
guidance of Mrs. Navneeta prepared hand made painted flags. The Political
Science Department organized a declamation contest on the topic India towards
100 years of Independence. Jhanvi of BA won this contest. Department of History
and Post Graduate Department of Hindi organized Poetry recitation Competition.
The event celebrated the ultimate freedom, the spirit of Independence and
honoured the specific and valour of our freedom fighters. On this occasion Mrs.
Kuljit Kaur, Dr. Jyoti Gogia, Mrs. Protima Mander, Mrs. Pawan Kumari and Dr.
Deepti Dhir were present. The students of Music Department sang a beautiful
patriotic song under the guidance of Dr. Prem Sagar. Face and hands were
painted in tri colour by students of Student Council. The teaching and
non-teaching staff members were wearing tri color clothes. Principal Prof. Dr.
(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen addressed the
gathering and said that we all should feel proud about being a citizen of a
country like India. We have sacrificed a lot to attain freedom and we all
should understand its importance. The cadets of NCC and Volunteers of NSS were
shouting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. On this occasion Dean Student Council Dr.
Urvashi Mishra, and all members of teaching and non-teaching staff were also
present.
