The Budding Brontes Society of Post Graduate
English Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organised
an Poetry Recitation Competition.
Students from various streams and classes enthusiastically participated in this
competition. The topics of the poems were importance of relations, love for
parents, social evils, self love, women sensitivity and environmental issues.
Around 30 students participated in this competition. Some of the poems were
self composed. Thus, the students displayed their creative abilities. The
judges were Dr. Mamta, Mrs. Ritu Bajaj,
Mrs. Jyoti Sharma and Mrs. Lovleen Kaur.
Head of English Department Dr. Mamta encouraged the students to be more
sensitive and voice their opinions on different themes. She encouraged them to
become better versions of themselves through their writing. Principal Prof. Dr.
(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the department for organising the event.
Jahnvi ( BA-3), Meghna Nadda ( BA sem 3) got the first position. Harleen ( BBA
SEM 1) and Arzoo ( BA sem 5) got the second position. Dhra Mahajan ( B.Sc eco
sem 3) and Manya Taneja (B.com sem 1) got the third position. Mannat ( B.Sc eco
sem 3) got the consolation prize. Incharge of The Budding Brontes Society, Mr.
Parminder Singh congratulated the winners. On this occasion Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur
Chouhan was also present. Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda and Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal gave
their blessings for the participants.
The event ended on a note of new beginning for the budding poets.
