NSS department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized Seven-Day
special camp under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.
The theme of the third day of the camp was Education
and Environment: Building Knowledge. The volunteers went to Gillan village
and made the villagers aware about cleanliness and environmental protection.
The rules of health protection were explained to the children of the government
school and the importance of cleanliness was discussed with them. Programme
Officer Dr. Veena Arora encouraged the children to plant trees to protect the
environment. Mrs. Rajneet from the Fashion Designing Department of the college
provided information about various embroidery stitches to the rural women. NSS
Advisor Dr. Anjana Bhatia inspired them to use eco-friendly items. After lunch,
the volunteers cleaned the botanical garden of the college. Dr. Meenu Talwar,
Head of Sanskrit Department, presented a meaningful lecture on the topic of Service, Dedication and Culture: The Need
of Today's Time and highlighted the importance of human values to the Volunteers.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen motivated the students to contribute back to the society by being
better individuals. Dr. Anjana Bhatia boosted the morale of the students with
her inspiring words. The stage was conducted by Dr. Jyoti Gogia. Ms. Harmanu,
Ms. Gurpreet were also present on this occasion.
