The Environment Club of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has taken a step forward towards making the college environmentally and socially advantageous to the region by organizing organic Rakhi event. Principal Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen directed the staff and students to use eco-friendly objects and celebrate festival sin an environmentally safe manner. She further guided the students to zealously work as Eco-soldiers to protect and sustain the health of environment. HMV is a polythene free green campus and steps are being taken to make it an organic zone. Organic Rakhis which were made by rural and tribal women were given to the students to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. Each Rakhi was made from organic cotton and dyed using natural dyes. Further, the Rakhis contained a seed to be planted after using them. The Rakhis were brought by social worker, Ms. Lipika. Mrs. Jyoti Kaul, Incharge encouraged the students to always work tirelessly for the cause of environment. Dr. Anjana Bhatia said that such small steps would go a long way in building an environmentally sustainable society. Mrs. Ramnita urged the students to work as angles for Mother Earth. Dr. Jyoti Mittu and Dr. Jasbir were also present on this occasion.
