HMV Collegiate School Celebrated Mother’s Day

 



The day that recognises the essence of a mother was marked as well as celebrated in high spirit and merriment at the HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School  Campus on the eve of Mother's Day under the able guidance of honourable principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The occasion was enjoyed and celebrated by one and all present. The feelings of gratitude and love were expressed as a mark of respect for every mother, on the account of this great day, in various forms of expression and love as flowing flood of free emotions.  Principal Madam presided as the chief guest of the day and was welcomed with the planter by the Dean Academic cum School Coordinator, Dr. Seema Marwaha.  The day commenced with the D.A.V Gaan and the presence of one and all present there added to the opening of the ceremony. As the valuable words shared by respected Principal  Prof. Dr (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen the students were appreciated and encouraged for their honest and fruitful effort on this great day. She also praised them for expressing their emotions and the way they choose the medium of colours, crayons and Canvas and these became the words of every heart to express the never ending bond of ever flowing love. She also guided them to be attached truly and  help their hero with a cozy cup to relax as the gratitude for a role model who guides them on the path of life. She also  highlighted the role of a mother in every life as an embodiment of true, pure and sincere love that is never ending and constantly flowing for the well being of not only her child but each and every one who falls into the sphere of her life. The event proceeded with  the Card Competition that was binded with a mixed feeling of true love, self care and sacrifice, devotion and dedication, for the compassionate caring companion which left no heart untouched. This event was a platform for the students to text and  portray their love and emotions and their cherished memories through poetry, songs, dialogues,  loving verses and cards full of  crayons and colourful expressions as on the canvas of their mind as a replica on a  paper and made the event memorable. An unexpectedly large participation of 100, in the card making competition made it even much more appreciable and difficult part to choose the best one. Love is always pure, ever flowing and the best feeling that is gifted to mankind Essential efforts of the students were praised by our honorable principal ma'am as the expression of love and gratitude was fabulously reflected through art and creativity, poem and phrases, pictorial reflections and the real level of beauty and its bond; all beyond imagination. The presiding judges for the card making competition were  Mrs. Deepshikha Dean Examination,  Dr.  Meenu Talwar and Dr.  Shuchi,. The Poetic Competition was judged by  Dr. Neelam Sharma Head of Chemistry Department, Dr. Jyoti Gogia Head of Hindi Department and Mrs Amita Sharma. The winners of the day for Card making Competition were bagged by I position- Sneha Salotra from +2 Commerce,II position - Sangya +1 Arts, III position - Muskan +2 Non Medical. The Poetry Recitation Competition were bagged by I position - Hargun +1 Commerce II position - Lovepreet +2 Medical, III position - Deyva +1 Arts. The encouraging words of Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academic cum School Coordinator congratulated all the participants for a wonderful and  confident participation and making it a success. She also thanked all the teammates who have  put in their efforts as the stage conducting by Ms.  Sukriti Sharma, Dr. Anjana Bhatia Dean Innovative and Research for their gracious presence. She expressed her gratitude for the school staff, Music Dept and also the Home Science Dept for the mouth-watering snacks.

HMV Collegiate School Distributed books and study material to needy and meritorious students

 


Considering the importance of books, HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School undertook the process of books distribution under the able guidance of Principal Prof.  Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The institute takes pride in fulfilling the needs of the students from diverse backgrounds by giving scholarships on various grounds and the school took the noble initiative to donate books to the meritorious and needy students. The aim behind book distribution was to mobilize resources to meet educational needs of the students. Some old  students also participated voluntarily to donate their old books and to extend a helping hand towards their schoolmates. On this occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen inspired students to put their earnest efforts to continue their learning despite adverse circumstances. She also added that absence of reading and reference material undoubtedly disrupts the studies but strong determination, dedication and support overcome all obstacles. School coordinator Dr. Seema Marwaha also assured students that the school will do everything possible to make education accessible to them. Books were donated to 40 students from different streams.  On this occasion the faculty members Mr. Ravi, Mrs. Anuradha Thakur, Mrs. Upma Gupta, Ms. Ridhima, Ms. Palak were also present.

HavanYajna performed at HMV Collegiate School on the commencement of Academic Session 2023-24 of SSC 1

 



The inaugural Havan for the new academic session 2023-24 for SSC 1 of Collegiate School was performed at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya .  The new session as well as the day began on a very enthusiastic note.  Everyone joined hands in chanting the holy mantras and invoking the blessings of the Almighty for the new session. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed the students of SSC-1 and prayed for the blessings of the Almighty. With her powerful words, she inspired the young students to develop sustainably with diligence, self- control, and knowledge. She told the students to leave no stone unturned and be the epitome of success so that every other girl feel inspired. She blessed them to spread the fragrance of  goodness just like the divine fragrance of Havan and make the name of parents, teachers and nation proud. She also held firmly that success is definitely be achieved through focused attitude combined with persistent  hard work and the blessings of Almighty and parents. Staff Secretary, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur Head Maths Department said that devotion, passion and love are the core values to be nurtured in young mind and heart. She advised students to meditate and keep the mind away from negative thoughts and worries. On this event, Dr.  Prem Sagar from the Music Department sang a Bhajan and filled the air with mellifluous divinity. The school coordinator Dr. Seema Marwaha addressed the students by saying that  self – discipline and patience are extremely important components to achieve success and every obstacle in the path of success be treated as stepping stone. She encouraged them to be invincible in life. She thanked Principal Prof. Dr. Sareen for her constant support and inspiration and assured her of the relentless and whole hearted efforts of the faculty.  The havan ceremony was ended with recital of Shanti Path by Dr. Meenu Talwar. The Havan was attended by  all the members of collegiate faculty – teaching and non-teaching, the supporting staff and the students.  The stage was conducted by Ms. Sukriti Sharma.

HMV Collegiate School Pays Homage to Former CM S. Parkash Singh Badal

 



The faculty, staff and students of HMV Collegiate School paid tribute to former Punjab Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patriarch Parkash Singh Badal, who passed away on April, 25. A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect in the memory of the Akali stalwart. Principal Dr. ( Mrs.) Ajay Sareen lauded Sardar Badal's contributions to the nation and the state. She remembered him as a pious soul, visionary leader, and a remarkable statesman whose contribution is immense.  She conveyed to the students that the colossal personality of S. Parkash Singh Badal teaches us great lessons of devotion and dedication. She concluded by offering prayers to the Almighty to grant strength and solace to the bereaved family members, the people of the state, and the nation to bear this irreparable loss.

Jashan- e- Baisakhi organized at HMV Collegiate School


 



The festivities, cheer and vibrancy were at the peak  in Jashan- e- Baisakhi  organized at HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School . The students completely dazzled in Punjabi attires welcomed the worthy guest Dr.( Mrs.) Ajay Sareen with  Punjabi folk songs and  their wonderfully drafted rangoli which filled the eyes with colours of Punjab. School Coordinator Dr.SeemaMarwaha felicitated the guest withthe green planter. The celebration commenced with DAV Gaan. The students enthusiastically participated in Poster Making and Elocution and Poem Recitation Competition exhibiting rich Punjabi heritage and Culture. While congratulating the students on the occasion of Baisakhi, Dr.( Mrs.) Ajay Sareen felt immensely elated as for the farmers this day reaps a good harvest. She beautifully explained the relation between a teacher and a student that teacher is like the charioteer of the life of students just like Lord Krishna showed Arjuna the right path, the teacher also illuminated the path of the students with knowledge. She laid emphasis to walk on the right path always and it is chosen prudently with analytical skills which is developed by teachers. On this event, the role of judges was skilfully performed by  Dr.Shuchi, Mr. Ravi , Mrs. Renu, Mrs. Upma and Ms. Sukriti. In Elocution Competition the first position was grabbed by km. SehajVijand km. Shrishti Jain secured the second position. Km. Suneha, km. Jaismeen, km. Jiya secured first, second and third positions respectively in Poster Making Competition. In Poem Recitation Competition, the first position was attained by km. Anmol and the second position was obtained by Km. Ankita. The happiness of celebrations multiplied a lot with the mellifluous singing of Pawni, a student of SSC 1 Arts who has been the semi finalist of Voice Of Punjab. ThePunjabi Folk Songs in her voice filled the atmosphere with energy and vigour. The students also presented Bhangra. In the end, the school coordinator gave vote of thanks and said that every festival brings package of happiness and attaches us with rich cultural, and religious heritage and the celebration of these festivals is highly significant for the holistic development of students. The stage was skilfully conducted by Km. Ashu and Km. Gurnoor. On this occasion, Mrs. Mamta, Head English Department and all the faculty members of collegiate section were present.

Academic Session 2023-24 begins with Havan at HMV Collegiate School

 



Havan was organized on the commencement of Academic Session 2023-24 of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School. With the pious chants of mantras, Havan Yajna was performed in the Yajna shala of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalya on the commencement of academic session 2023-24 of SSC-2 of Collegiate School to seek the blessings of the Almighty.  The fragrance of the Yajna Samidhas and oodles of enthusiasm over anumber of accolades won by the institution under the dynamic guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen filled the day with positivity at peak. On this occasion, the Chief Guests Ms. Aarti Rajput, National President Women Cell (WHRC), Sh. Kamal and Advocate Ravi Vinayak were given green welcome with planters by the Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen and School co-ordinator Dr. Seema Marwaha. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen encouraged the girls to face every obstacle with resilience and tenacity and fly  higher in the region of success with spark of positivity in personality. She inspired them to move forward  in life with determined desire to learn more and more. The institution provides all sorts of resources  for holistic development of girls  and carve them like diamonds to bring out their lustre and sheen. Ms. Aarti Rajput congratulated the students on passing SSCI with flying colours motivated them todo self- introspection to attain success in life. The School Co-ordinator Dr. Seema Marwaha presented  Vote of thanks and  wished massive success to the students for their future endeavours. Dr. Prem Sagar of the Music Department presented bhajanas and infused melodious sweetness in the atmosphere and enthralled everyone. The stage was masterly hosted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia . The  event was concluded with the recital of  Shanti Paath by Dr. Meenu Talwar. The Hawan was attended by Superintendents Mr. Pankaj Jyoti, Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Mr. Ravi Maini and all the members of teaching as well as non-teaching and supporting staff.

Best Wishes Card Ceremony Organized at HMV Collegiate School

 



HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized Best Wishes Card Ceremony in the campus. This ceremony was organized for the students of SSC-I and SSC-II. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen gave best wishes cards to the students and prayed to Almighty for their better future and excellent performance in exams. The cards which were distributed were made up of recycled paper by the students of Student Council of the college. The sweets were also distributed to the students. On this occasion, Dean Academics and School Coordinator Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Student Council Mrs. Urvashi Mishra and faculty members of school section were present there.

HMV Collegiate School organized Jashn-e-Parwaaz-2023

 




An essence of overwhelming elation swept over in the farewell function organized to bid adieu the students of SSC 2 Jashn- e- Parwaaz-2023 organized in HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School under the dynamic guidance of the Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers and to reminisce joyous moments. The event was commenced with traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by DAV Gaan. The School Coordinator Dr. Seema Marwaha and Dean Student Council Mrs. Urvashi Mishra extended green welcome to the guest of honour to the Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.   The students put up musical performances in the form of songs and cultural dance performances. Some intriguing games were also arranged to add excitement to the gliding moments. The juniors enthralled the gathering and added colours to the vibrant occasion. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen showered her blessings and expressed her strong belief that girls of this pioneer Institute will be the ambassador of the values and ethics they have learnt from the Institute. She expressed her deep appreciation to the students' immense talent which is polished in HMV premises and provide edge to their personalities. She further inspired students to remain humble and connected to their roots and wish them great success in their future. She conveyed her gratitude to the school coordinator, worthy judges, the faculty members and to dear students for their relentlessly untiring efforts to turn dreams into reality. The coordinator Dr.Seema Marwaha conveyed her sincerest regards to the guest of honour Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen under whose illuminated aura the institution is reaching to greater heights of success. She also wished the students to emerge triumphant in all walks of life. The judges for modelling competition were Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Head of Psychology Department, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Neelam Sharma, Head of Chemistry Department, Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Head of Skill Courses, Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Dean Student Welfare. The coveted title of Ms. Royale was given to Kashish Handa, Karishma won the title of Ms. Buoyant, the title of Ms. Empirical was given to Kuljinder. Diya Sharma won the title of Ms. Farewell 2023, khushi won the title of Ms. Farewell first runner up and Mehak Chopra won the title of Ms. Farewell second runner up. The head girl of the school  Palak shared her enriching experience and also expressed gratitude. She poured out her emotions and love for the school. On behalf of SSC 1 students, Shrishti in her speech cherished the wonderful memories spent with seniors and wished them good luck for their brighter future. The auditorium was festooned with glare and the pulsating music rocked the ambience. All the dignitaries passed on the light of wisdom- DivyaJyoti from the outgoing students to the students of SSC 1. The school coordinator gave the vote of thanks. The stage was successfully conducted by Ms. Masrat, Ms. Shiana, Ms. Isha, and Ms. Sakshi.The faculty members of college and collegiate section graced the occasion with their presence.

HMV Collegiate School Celebrated Human Rights Day

 




International Human Rights Day  was celebrated at HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School by the PG  department of Political Science under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The programme  started with DAV Gaan.     Mrs. Alka, from Political Science Department welcomed guest of the day Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics and School Coordinator.  While addressing the students, Dr. Seema Marwaha said that Human Rights are based on the Principles of Human Solidarity, Cooperation and Development. She focused on 5 human rights- Right to live with dignity, Right to health, Right to Education, Right of Speech and Right to food. She further elaborated we should use these rights within the bounds so that our rights do not interfere in the rights of others. Mrs. Alka said that on  10th December,1948, United Nations General Assembly adopted The Universal Declaration of Human Rights with the promise that from this day each and every individual have right to live with dignity and liberty.
In the Paper Reading Competition students Harshita, Ankita, Satmeet Kaur, Harmandeep Kaur,  Gurjeet,  Diya,  Jiya, Nancy, Parjinder, Ashu and Khushi  of SSC I and II of all streams  presented paper. The Judge  of the day Mrs. Protima Head of History department  declared Ashu of SSC II Commerce First,  Parjinder of SSC I Arts Second and Gurjeet of SSC I Arts third. All the winners were given prizes by School Coordinator Dr. Seema Marwaha. Dr. Jiwan Devi gave vote of thanks. The function ended with National Anthem.

HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized Workshop for training of teachers for 30th National Children's Science Congress in collaboration with District Education Officer

 



HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized one day workshop for training of teachers regarding 30thNational Children Science Congress on the theme Understanding Ecosystem for Health and Well Being in collaboration with District Education Officer under the stewardship of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The workshop was commenced by lighting the lamp of knowledge with the recitation of Gayatri Mantra and Tilak Ceremony. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen extended her hearty welcome by presenting green planters to Mr. Rajiv Joshi, Deputy DEO, Mr. Harjit Bawa, DM Science, Jalandhar and Resource Persons Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Principal, Sain Dass Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar, Mr. Rajendra Kumar, Lecturer in Chemistry, Government Senior School, Gakhal, Mr. Haridarshan Singh, lecturer in Chemistry, Government Senior Secondary School, Dhure, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Science Master, Government High School, Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar. She welcomed all the dignitaries and delegates present in the workshop. Dr.  Sareen appreciated whole heartedly about different projects initiated for the training of teachers and said that this day would be highly enriching for them. While addressing she said that we need to be aware of our health and can increase the quality of our work only by staying healthy. She hoped  that after getting training from the workshop, the teachers will prepare local level projects for students in their respective institutions through research based activities and by doing research based work, they will be able to connect scientific consciousness with local and global level activities and fulfil their duty as teachers. In the end, she motivated teachers to maintain perpetually profound interest in the subject so that the students feel inspired and innovative spark naturally ignited in them to create better future of nation. Mr. Harjeet Bawa thanked the college principal and school Coordinator for organizing this workshop in the institution and welcomed the science teachers of various institutions and said that the Children's Science Congress with its untiring efforts,  has made its identity at the world level today, so the teachers should provide such training to the students that the subject awareness of them should increase and they will take Children Science Congress to greater heights by getting the best training. Mr. Rajendra Kumar while talking about various topics of Science Congress, discussed understanding of Eco System, what is Eco system, its different types and said that to keep the environment clean we should take concrete steps like instead of using Plaster of Paris for making idols, soil and clay etc. should be used. He gave the sound message of making this earth plastic free which makes our ecosystem and health in finer state. Mr. Rajesh Sharma shared his enlightening knowledge with the teachers about government schemes, various projects and how those projects should be evaluated. Mr. Rajeev Joshi, Deputy DEO praised this commendable work andin his address to the teachers present in the workshop, he said to prepare the students to participate in various activities with full dedication and hard work keeping the theme in mind so that they will develop holistically and glorify the name of the institution and the district by utilising their fullest potential. Mrs. Meenakshi Syal, School Coordinator, while giving vote of thanks, said that science makes our life comfortable and affects every aspect of life.In her immenselyefficacious note, she said that the workshop proved to all highly beneficial in acquiring  knowledge in abundance. She said that in order to give pragmatic knowledge to students about Eco System,  Eco Garden of HMV is the perfect example which is maintained by the students beautifully.A total of 222 school teachers participated in this workshop and Mr. Sanjeev Bansal, Mr. Rajeev Bhatti, Mr. Ravi,  Mr. Surinder, Mrs. Kanchan and Mrs. Deepali graced the workshop as block mentors. The stage was moderated by Dr. Anjana Bhatia.

Students of HMV Collegiate School won various medals in Athletics

 



The students of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Jalandhar won Medals in Punjab School Games at District Level Tournament in Athletics games held at Khalsa School Ladowali. Harshika Gagan won gold medals in Shot-Put U-19. Mandeep got 2 gold medals in Shot Put and Discus Throw. Simranjeet got 3 gold medal in 1500 Meter, 3000 Meter and 4 x 400 Meter Relay Race. Sameeksha got gold medal in 100 meter Hurdles. Preeti got 2 gold medals in High Jump and 4 x 400 Relay and silver medal in Javelin Throw. Lovepreet got  gold medal in 4 x 400  relay and silver medal in 200 meter race. Amrit Kaur got Bronze Medal in 1500 meter Race. Khushi got silver medal in 4 x 100 meter Relay. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated  the winners and said that HMV is always known for the achievements of its students. On this occasion, School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal and from Sports Department Mrs. Harpreet Kaur were also present.

Childern’s Day celebrated with great avidity at HMV Collegiate School

 




Fun and Frolic was at the pinnacle in the celebrations of Children’s Day organized in the premises of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School under the able stewardship of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The day marks the birthday of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister was cherished in utter merriment with the participation of the students in Nukkad Natak as well as in Ad Mad Show in which they showcased their immense potential. The event was commenced with lighting of lamp and recitation of Gayatri Mantra. Inspiration and aesthetic wind always blows in HMV Collegiate, keeping true to this Our Shining Stars Meritorious Board as well as Tile Painting in the Eco Garden of school premises got inaugurated amidst the chanting of Mantra by Principal Prof Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The Meritorious Board covers up the brilliancy of students achieved in previous session and the tile painting in vibrant colours and texture brings beauty to the Eco Garden. Home Science Department put up  stalls of delectable eatables to spice up the taste buds of everyone present there. Students participated fervently and  prepared Nukad Natak under the guidance of Ms. Sukriti, PGT Economics  and Ms. Anju, PGT Punjabi. The Nukad Natak eloquently and powerfully depicted the role of social media and its impact on our lives that how emotions change into emojis and books change into Facebook. Not only this, the natak presented  flip side of social media too which is quite helpful to all of us and serves us in rising intellectual level and providing platform to talent. The natak ended with the message to use social media prudently which got huge appreciation from all. Confidence, conviction and innovation were exhibited by students in their Ad Mad Show prepared by Commerce Department in which they showcased their persuasive skills. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen in gleeful gesture appreciated the students and wished them Happy Children’s Day. She said that Pt. Nehru’s life inspires us profusely to tackle every situation with a smile on the face and always keep alive the child like innocence in heart to praise the wonders of life. Alongwith it, she praised the nukkad natak which completely served the objective of developing holistic personality of a student. She said that the children of today will determine the future of country and in order to make it brighter the students should work on their skills. School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal congratulated the students on Children's Day and said that this day connected us to roots of our rich and glorious history and inspires the students to develop holistically and become responsible citizens of the nation. She emphasized on experiential learning which is built by these sorts of events that create self-confidence and become the platform for the young students to display their latent talent. On this event, CA Vikram Arora, Dr. Ashmeen, IQAC Coordinator, Mrs. Navroop, Dean Youth Welfare, Dr. Shallu Batra, Dean Discipline, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovation, Dr. Seema Khanna, Mrs. Protima, Head of History Department, Dr. Meenu Talwar, Head of Sanskrit Department, Mr. Ravi Maini, Superintendent Admin and all the teachers of collegiate section were present. Students of HMV Collegiate School performed tremendously well in the Eighth International Humanity Olympiad-2022

 



 

As per the vision of DAV  College Managing Committee to provide value-based skill oriented quality education to women, HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School conducted 8th  International Humanity Olympiad-2022 to instil moral and humane values in the young students to make them mentally and emotionally empowered for the prosperity of the nation. The main objective of the Olympiad is to make the students do self introspection so that a sound character development takes place with high integrity and the students of HMV Collegiate School performed tremendously well in it. The Olympiad was organized in the month of August. They were asked questions about evolution of consciousness, social charity and social goodness so that spontaneous compassionate attitude and humanitarian approach can be imparted in their minds and hearts. In this Olympiad, Urvashi of +2 Commerce received  medal as the topper in the school, and also secured 43rd Position in the whole India out of top 500 and Gurdeep of +2 (Arts) stood second in the school. They got applauded with award and certificate for the same. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal congratulated the winners and encouraged them to take part in these sorts of activities in future too. HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School organized Parent Teacher Meeting

 




Parent teacher meeting was successfully organized in the premises of HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School to share and evaluate the progress report of students. In this, parents were informed about the academic performance of the students in the examinations held in this month, their regularity in classes, the marks obtained in the examinations and were also asked to ensure the attendance of their children and interest in studies. This thoughtful, noble and commendable work organized by the authorities at the school was praised by the parents and they said that HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School along with academic education and through educational activities and competitions enhance students’ knowledge by making them mentally strong, hardworking and instilling confidence in them. Appreciating this step taken by the institution, Principal Prof. Dr.(Mrs.)Ajay Sareen said that our institution endeavours to provide proper education so that there would be no hindrance in the all round development of the children. She, wholeheartedly thanked the parents for their active contribution in the academic development of the students as their role is important. In the end, she said that the main objective of this meeting is to develop a strong bridge between the parents and the teachers. In the meeting, teachers related to different subjects also got an opportunity to exchange the observations and results of the students with the parents. During this, an exhibition of beautiful files made by the students related to Punjabi culture through which knowledge of Punjabi culture could be gained was held. Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, School Coordinator said that the main objective of this meeting is to find practical solutions to the problems that come in the way of children’s development. In the end, she said that every effort would be made by the school in future also so that there would be no hindrance in the all round development of the students.

HMV Collegiate School Celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

 


As a mark of respect to the former President and Missile Man of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's birth anniversary was celebrated with great enthusiasm as World's Students Day by the students of HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr.( Mrs.) Ajay Sareen .The students were given practical knowledge in the Innovation Hub of the institute so that they garnered experiential learning. In this way of joy in learning ignites interest and passion among students towards their subject which  ultimately bolsters them to express their ingenious talent. Along with it, they also gained knowledge about how to create something new learn and concepts of Physics by using the things available at homes so that their inner creative spark triggers and pave the way to novel innovations. This makes them resourceful to gain realistic knowledge which they implement in their home labs. On this occasion, Dr. Sareen exhorted the students to follow simplicity, positive thinking, dedication, determination and aim high like Dr. Kalam. She also encouraged them to work hard to make our country proud and stronger. In order to fulfill the dreams of  great visionary leader, she laid emphasis on never give up as the word "FAIL" also stands for First Attempt In Learning. Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal ,School Coordinator congratulated the students on Kalam's Jayanti which is celebrated as World Students’ Day. She said that science is the greatest blessing to mankind and with new ideas, techniques, creativity and presentation we can make our India to reach at the pinnacle of success . She encouraged students to focus on knowledge and proficiency and have vision for life with fundamentals of values. The students presented their views with gusto on the inspiring life story of Dr. Kalam. On this event, Ms. Ridhima of Physics Department was also present.

Students of HMV Collegiate School has excelled at the state level by conquering Gold Medals in the International Commerce Olympiad

 

HMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar provides opportunity to the students for participating in Olympiads every year with an aim to provide the platform for brushing the learning abilities of its students over and above the curricular programmes. More than 50% of the Commerce students of class SSS-I and SSC-II participated in Commerce Olympiad organized by Science Olympiad Foundation, New Delhi in collaboration with British Council. Shamili Sharma of SSC-II and Shafreen of SSC-I class had won gold medals at Zonal ( Punjab and Chandigarh Zone) level. Four students, Muskan Dhadwal (SSC-I), Urvashi (SSC-I), Kuljeet Kaur (SSC-I) and Damini Sharma (SSC-II) won gold medals of Excellence at school level. On their marvellous achievement, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the students and also encouraged them to work with commitment in all walks of life . School coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal also gave best wishes to students and motivated to give their best in such competitions as it will help in their mental growth and international exposure.

National Conference on Recent Advancement in Physics organized by HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School

 






HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized one day National Conference on Recent Advancements in Physics in collaboration with Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPTRC-02). The objective of this conference is to ignite a spark of curiosity and critical thinking among school and college students. The conference started with lighting of lamp, Gayatri Mantras and DAV Gaan. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed Chief Guest Prof. Vinod Kannaujia, Director N.I.T., Jalandhar. Conference Convener Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal briefed about the conference and said that this conference is organized to provide a platform to budding scientists in the field of Physics. State Awardee Dr. Jaswinder Singh also addressed the students and said that the objective of IAPT is to enhance the quality of Physics teaching in Schools, Colleges and Universities. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen addressed the students and said that Science is inseparable part of all the logical things. Science represents our mental capability and gives a new dimension to our thoughts. She gave a message to all the teachers that they should not suppress the creativity of children. She told the students not to leave a single doubt in their minds and encouraged them to learn something new in life and make their parents proud. Chief Guest Prof. Vinod Kannaujia said that we should always perform new experiments for the development of our nation. He encouraged the students to recognize their capabilities and be self confident. Prof. P.K. Ahluwalia, President IAPT gave his best wishes through online mode. During the conference, 7 parallel sessions were organized in which 170 students from 36 institutions of various districts like Bathinda, Barnala, Ferozepur, Muktsar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahar, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur, Patiala, Pathankot and Hoshiarpur participated. They presented posters on various topics like Physics in Robotics, Application of Nanotechnology, Physics in Kitchen, Role of ISRO in Development of India, Physics and Spectroscopy etc. The judges were Sh. Ashish from Police DAV Public School Jalandhar, Sh. Rajan Tandon, PGT Sain Dass Sr.Sec. School, Jalandhar, Sh. Navneet Aangra, PGT, Anand Public School, Kapurthala, Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Physics Department, LPU, Dr. Manoj Kumar, S.D. College Barnala, Dr. K.S. Maan, DAV College Bathinda, Dr. Sharanjeet Sandhu, DAV College Jalandhar and Mrs. Seema Chopra, Principal Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. Smart School Uggi. In Poster Presentation, School Category Prabhnoor Basra got 1st prize, Sahibjot Singh got 2nd prize, Ramneek Kaur and Komal Mehra got 3rd prize and Gurjot Singh got Consolation prize. In College Category, Muskan, Jiya, Siddhanth Shishodia got 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. In Paper Presentation College Category, Sonampreet Kaur got 1st, Krishan Kumar got 2nd and Prabhjot Kaur got 3rd prize. In School Category, Arjunbir Singh got 1st, Mahim and Sohypreet Kaur got 2nd prize, Khushmehar Sandhu and Jessica Kaur got 3rd prize. Consolation prizes were given to Arpit Sharma and Archana Mishra. During Valedictory Session Major Amit Sareen, ADC (General) Jalandhar was the Chief Guest. He addressed the students and said that development of Science is the symbol of development of nation. He appreciated the creativity of the students. Vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal. Stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia. The winners were honoured with certificates and trophies. The conference ended with National Anthem.

Students of HMV Collegiate School won six gold medals in International English Olympiad

 



Holding the mission of providing value oriented, skill based, and globally competent education in sync with Nation's march towards sustainable growth and prosperity, the students of HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School participated in International English Olympiad which is organized by Science Olympiad Foundation, New Delhi in collaboration with British Council. The Olympiad mainly focuses on the practical use of English language and communication rather than rote learning. Six students - Jahnavi Kapoor, Mehak Chopra, Simreet of SSC-1 and Nirlape Kaur,  Jiya and Arvinder Kaur of SSC 2 brought laurels by winning gold medals and certificates of appreciation for their commendable performance. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the students for their achievement. She also encouraged the winners to work with commitment to be successful in all walks of life. School coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal also gave best wishes to students and motivated students to endeavour for better and deeper understanding of language to participate in such competitions for their mental growth and international exposure.

Installation Ceremony held at HMV Collegiate School

 


HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School hosted the Installation Ceremony in collaboration with Student Council under the guidance of Dean Student Council Mrs. Urvashi Mishra and Coordinator School Mrs. Meenakshi Syal.  The event was presided over by the worthy Chief Guest Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The ceremony commenced with traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by reciting DAV Gaan.  It was conducted with high degree of earnestness and passion.  School coordinator and Dean Student Council welcomed the worthy guest by presenting planter. Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council paid her gratitude to the untiring efforts of Principal under whose able stewardship Student Council is touching the pinnacle of success. She briefed about various best practices of student council. She said that student council is link between students and administration that helps to develop administrative and leadership qualities among students. Leaders are not born but they are made and this is possible because of student council. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen addressed the students and congratulated them on receiving the prestigious offices designated to them. In her address she motivated the students to become ‘Arya' and imbibe good qualities like truthfulness, humbleness and sense of gratitude to bring positive change in society and nation. She inspired students to maintain balance between power and responsibilities which further help them to be a successful person in life.  Badges are sign of responsibilities which help students to differentiate between good and bad and to discharge their duties with more efficiency. Office bearers are messengers of any institution who will help to inculcate good qualities among other students and also to society. She also asked students to be regular in their classes. Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal congratulated the newly elected office bearers and said that the aim of the institution is to develop administrative skills of the students for the overall development of their personalities. Thereafter, the newly elected members undertook their responsibilities as new office bearers and they were conferred with badges respectively. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledged to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities and to hold the motto of loyalty, truth and honour in high esteem.  Palak of SSC 2 Arts was pinned badge of Head Girl by Principal Prof.Dr.(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council and Mrs. Meenakshi Syal.  The post of Joint Head Girl was held by Kritagya Gaba of SSC 2 Arts and Tanisha Ghai of SSC 2 Commerce and Komal Mehra of SSC 2 Medical was designated as Joint Head Girl.  The post of Assistant Head Girl was held by Girisha Mangla of SSC 1 Medical, Sehajpreet Kaur of SSC 1 Arts, and Muskan of SSC 1 Commerce.   04 students were elected for the HMV Task Force and 09 students were elected as the class representatives.  The head girl Palak in her vote of thanks conveyed that belief and encouragement of the institution on them is their greatest strength and they all work in a team with extreme devotion for the holistic growth of the institution. The stage was conducted by members of college students council. The event ended with the National Anthem.

Akshay Urja Diwas was celebrated with great gusto at HMV Collegiate School

 



 To explore and celebrate the power of renewable sources of energy-Akshay Urja Diwas was organized in HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School under the able stewardship of  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The day commemorates the birthday of former Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi and the objective of this event is to generate mass awareness and popularization of need, benefits and uses of renewable energy devices and systems in all spheres of life. The event was commenced with lighting of the lamp to spread divine grace. The Green Champion Awardee Dr. Ajay Sareen conveyed her felicitation of Akshay Urja Diwas to the young learners and motivated them to be considerate towards environment. She put forth the catchword “Save Energy and Make the Earth Greeneer”  and emphasized to be highly conscious while using energy resources. She inspires every student to use energy resources prudently by saying that in HMV alternate energy resources are taken into great consideration like Solar Generator, Solar Light, Solar Gysers, Rain Water Harvesting Unit and Recycling Paper Machine are used with the purpose  of reducing wastage of energy resources so that these can be saved for posterity. She concluded her words by saying that the progress of any nation depends on the use of energy resources wisely. Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, School Coordinator congratulated the students and all faculty members and apprised that wind, earth and water are the most precious blessings the mankind has and  it is our solemn duty to conserve them and use them with wisdom as they are far better renewable resources than traditional energy resources that are exhaustible and take millions of years to replenish. She told the students to always focus on conserving nature so that we can make our Earth greener and cleaner. The students of Senior Secondary classes participated with great enthusiasm in different activities. Different sources of energy were represented creating remarkable models. Students prepared still model as well as working models. Their eye-catching models like ocean wave power generator, solar irrigation system, solar cooker, wind power, solar power energy, hydroelectric power point, DC generator etc. received appreciation. The judgement was provided by the worthy judges – Dr. Neelam Sharma, Head of Chemistry Department and Mrs. Saloni Sharma, Head of Physics Department. In Model Making Competition, Namrata of SSC 2 stood first, Jaishree of SSC2 attained second position and Alvis of SSC 1 secured third position. Students also did panel discussion on conserving energy resources and its significance, alternate sources of energy in which ideas were exchanged boisterously. The overall coordinators of the event were Ms. Vandana and Ms. Ridhima . The stage was conducted by Ms. Vandana commendably. All the teaching and non-teaching members were present in the function.
