Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is running one year Diploma
in Journalism and Media under Community College scheme of the UGC. All the students of Diploma in Journalism and
Media have passed their semester exams with good marks. As per the guidelines of UGC, scholarships
were given to these students. Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen gave the scholarships to the students under
community college scheme. The students
are Rajni, Bhawna, Amandeep, Harjinder, Nidhi, Kamlesh Sharma, Manpreet Kaur,
Meetu, Aakriti, Ritika, Amanjot and Kulwinderjit Kaur. Dean Academics and UGC Coordinator Dr. Mrs.
Meenakshi Syal said that these students had undergone a training programme in
different media organization. Three
students have been placed till now in different media organizations. Head of Mass Communication Deptt. Mrs. Rama
Sharma said that Jalandhar is the hub of media industry and this course makes
the students capable enough to do jobs in media industry. Under this course, Photojournalism, Radio
Production and TV Production are taught to the students. The eligibility of this course is +2 and
there is no age limit for taking admission in this course.
