PG Deptt. of Botany of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized one day DBT sponsored Nature Carnival under the mission ‘Our Dream, Go Green’. Three events were organized in Nature
Carnival which were plant variety show, photography and slogan writing. More than 350 students from different schools
and colleges from Jalandhar and nearby participated in this event. Head of Botany department Dr. Meena Sharma
welcomed Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen declared the Nature Carnival open and
encouraged tehs tudents to work for better tomorrow. She stressed on sustainable development which
is the need of the hour. On this
occasion, the PG Deptt. of Botany (FIST-DST sponsored) formally announced the
formation of G.B. Pant Botanical Society headed by Dr. Meena Sharma and
Secretary Dr. Shaveta Chauhan. The
events were judged by Mrs. Neety Sood, Dr. Minakshi Syal, Dr. Seema Marwaha,
Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Ekta Khosla, Mrs. Rama Sharma and Dr. Jitender
Kumar. Stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana
Bhatia. On this occasion, the members of
organizing committee Dr. Nitika, Mrs. Ramandeep Kaur, Ms. Harpreet, Ms.
Jaswinder, Ms. Kulwinder were also present.
Students from DAV University, DAV Colelge, Hindu
Kanya College Kapurthala, Police DAV Public School, Lala Jagat Narain DAV
School, DIPS, Shiv Devi School participated in the event. Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen gave away the
prizes to the winners. In photography
competition school category, Neha and Kanwar of Apeejay School Rama Mandi got
first prize, Anmol and Babita of Police DAV Public School got second prize and
Kartikaye Kumar of Sanskriti KMV got third prize. In college category, Jhum Chaudhary and
Shivani Sharma of DAV College got first prize, Kapil and Sakshi of DAV Univ.
got second prize and Jyoti of HMV got third prize. Consolation prizes were given to Shaiana and
Sharuchi of KMV and Priyanka Marwaha of HMV.
In plant variety show school category, Gurleen and
Jagroop of Police DAV Public school got first prize, Ruby and Chetna of DMS got
second prize, Ajay Pal Singh of DIPS Mehatpur got third prize and consolation
prize was given to Prerna Kaushal and Simranjit Kaur of Police DAV Public
School. In college category, Anamika and
Nidhi of HMV got first prize, Samiksha Muria of Hindu Kanya College got second
prize, Shabnam and Komalpreet of HMV got third prize and Mitanksha and Harpreet
Kaur of DAV Univ. got consolation prize.
In
slogan writing competition, in school category, Anmol of Sanskriti KMV got
first prize, Mehak of Shivdevi Girls High School got second, Harmeet of
Sanskriti KMV got third and Rojila & Gagan of DIPS got consolation
prize. In college category, Karishma of
HMV got first prize, Bhawna of Hindu Kanya College got second prize,
Gursharanpreet and Navdeep of HMV got third prize. Consolation prizes were given to Sonia and
Amardeep of DAV University and Priyanka Marwaha of HMV.
