2-day International conference inaugurated at HMV

Two day International Conference on Recent Advances for Quality Enhancement in Science & Technology was inaugurated at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.  This international conference is being organized in collaboration with International Association of Research Scholars (IARS), Australia.  The conference was inaugurated by Mr. H.S. Nanda, Commissioner, Jalandhar Division.  Director, Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER) Mohali, Prof. N. Sathyamurthy was the Guest of Honour.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed the guests, resource persons and delegates.  She congratulated department of science for organizing International Conference on such a grand level.  Introductory remarks have been given by Convener Dr. Meenakshi Sayal.  The keynote speaker of the conference was Prof. Dinithi C. Peiris, from Deptt. of Zoology, Sri Jaywardenepura University, Colombo, Sri Lanka.  She emphasized on the use of less toxic therapy for treatment of cancer and other diseases.  Chief Guest Mr. H.S. Nanda, Commissioner Jalandhar Division extended his good wishes and congratulated to organizers for holding international conference which provide platform for interaction to budding scientists with top most researchers of country and abroad.
Souvenir of the conference was also released during inaugural session.  Guest of Honour Prof. N. Sathyamurthy, Director IISER, Mohali delivered his talk on the topic “Atoms and Molecules in the confined environment”.  His talk illustrated how properties of atoms and molecules change because of confinement. 
During Planery Session I, Prof. Grish C. Varshney (IMTECH, Chandigarh) presented his invited talk on “Therapeutic applications of combinatorial approach using monoclonal antibodies and phage display technology in infectious diseases”.  Mr. Manjit Singh Kang, Adjunct Professor, Kansas State University, USA focused on to exploit the possible opportunities associated with climate change.  Mr. Aseem Sayal (University of Texas, Austin) delivered his valuable talk on MPPT techniques for photovoltaic system under uniform isolation and partial shading condition.   Prof. Dinithi C. Peiris, Prof. Satya Narain (Dilla University, Ethiopia), Prof. Girish C. Varshney, IMTECH, Chandigarh, Dr. Sarinder Kaur Dhillon, Malaya University had chaired the various Planery and technical sessions.  Prof. Harsh Manchanda, NIT and Prof. N.S. Saini, GNDU were the resource persons for judgement for poster presentation session. 

During Technical Session I & II, more than 24 young and budding scientists from various universities and colleges from India and abroad presented their research papers on varied themes.  More than 120 posters were presented during Technical Session III & IV.  On this occasion, Chairman Local Committee Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud, Sh. Arvind Ghai, Dr. Pawan Gupta, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET along with Mrs. Jyoti Kaul, Organizing Secretary, Mrs. Rakesh Uppal, Event Coordinator, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Meena Sharma, Dr. Ekta Khosla, Dr. Neelam Sharma, Mrs. Deepshikha, Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dr. Jatinder Kumar, Mr. Harpreet Singh and all other members of science faculty were also present.
