Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated the
indigenous festival of Rakshabandhan today, but with a difference. Under the
guidance of Principal Prof. Dr.
(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, the Innovation Cell, Environment Club & Student Council
celebrated the festival as "Vrikshabandhan". On this Occasion
Industrialists Mr. Vijay Prabhakar & Mr. V.M. Goyal were the guests. Rakhis
were tied by the girls to trees and to each other. Sharing the concept of
Vrikshabandhan, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
said that we have taken oath not to cut trees but to protect them. The students
tied threads to trees & pledged to take care of them. Dean Innovation Dr.
Ramnita Saini Sharda said that the students have tied organic rakhis, the
students have further saved the environment by helping Tribal women whose hand
made Rakhis were used.
On this occasion, the winners of "Rakhi Making
Competition" organised by Environment Club under the guidance of Dr. Seema
Marwaha, were also honoured. The winners were Aakriti, Anamika, Palak, Protima,
Naman. All the Deans, Heads of Deptts., faculty members, members of
non-teaching staff were present there. Stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana
Bhatia.
