HMV is actively
engaged in promoting Research and Development activities among our students for
the betterment of society. In this context, students are able to get fellowship
from various Government and Non-Government funding agencies like UGC, DBT &
other GoI Departments. In this effort, our student of B.Sc. Biotechnology Sem – IV Km. Gauri Jindal got
selected for “Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship” sanctioned by office of Principal
Scientifc Advisor to the Government of India. She is the only student in
undergraduate (category-B) to be seleceted in whole of Punjab for this
fellowship. This fellowship is an initiative to empower young innovators to
reduce waste for greener planet.
Under this programme, Km. Gauri Jindal will work under
the supervision of Dr. Jitender Kumar and Mr. Sumit Sharma to develop the
technology for converting waste into gold by the use of various
biotechnological high-end techniques. In this initiative she plans to use
various microbes to degrade the organic waste produced in the college and
convert it into value added products which would by beneficial to the society
and will also motivate young students.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated and
encouraged the student for this unique and brilliant achievement. On this
occasion School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal, Head of Biotechnology
Department Dr. Jitender Kumar and Mr. Sumit Sharma were also present and gave
their blessings.
