embellish its glorious journey of excellence. Aptly acknowledged as a Nursery of
Olympians it has nurtured and groomed players of international repute. HMV
feels proud of Sunita Rani , a famed athlete and receipient of Padma Shree and
Arjuna Award and Manjit Kaur who holds the current National record in 400 meter
and qualified for 2004 Athens Olympics. Cricketer Harmanpreet - Arjuna Awardee,
Athlete Rajwinder Kaur -Maharaja Ranjit Singh Awardee, Seema Thapar - Strong
woman of India, Mayuri Dhanraj, Rajeshwari, Joyshree, Irom Matouleibu, Sloni, Pritpal and Surjit Kaur Hockey
Olympians have all won accolades in International Sports and brought laurels to
its almamater. Renowed Olympian Mr. Milkha Singh also graced the institution
with his visit on Sports Meet and appreciated the efforts put forth of HMV.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen who holds the honoured position of
President Hockey Punjab (Women Wing) was also honoured by the association for
her contribution in the field of Women Sports. She congratulated the HMV family
on the occasion of World Olympic Day. She takes pride in the fact that HMV owns
a major share in winning of MAKA Trophy by Guru Nanak Dev University and said
that HMV will strive to continue with the glorious legacy and groom good sports women for the country.
