Vidyalaya under DBT Star Scheme and the able guidance of Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
organized an AIDS Awareness Campaign on World AIDS Day. On this day, various
competitive events such as Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Declamation and Power
Point Presentation were organized on the theme ‘Let communities lead’. Students
enthusiastically participated in different events and provided knowledge and
awareness to other students regarding the spread and preventive measures of
HIV/AIDS. A video film was also shown to
the students regarding HIV virus and life cycle in humans. Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs) Ajay Sareen congratulated Zoology Department for taking
the initiative for spreading awareness amongst community and emphasized that
communities should come together to dismantle the stigma surrounding AIDS,
spread awareness and break down stereotypes. Dr. Seema Marwaha, Head of Zoology Department and Dean
Academics, appreciated the efforts of students for preparing thought provoking
Posters and Slogans. She said that these kinds of events provide the platform
for reminding us the global struggle to end
HIV-related stigma, an opportunity to honor those we have lost and to unite in
the fight against HIV and AIDS. The event ended with the Judgment done by Mrs.
Deepshikha and Mrs. Saloni (Poster Making Competition), Dr. Jatinder and Mr.
Sushil (Slogan writing Competition) and Dr. Simmi and Dr. Sakshi
(Declamation/PPT Competition). Dr. Sakshi Verma, Mr. Ravi kumar and Ms. Divya
Sarangal were the conveners of the event. Mr. Ashish chadha, Assistant Professor in PG Department of
Multimedia designed Brochure and e-certificates. Mr. Vidhu Vohra, Senior Lab
Technician cum Programmer, provided Technical assistance. Mr. Sachin assisted
in making all arrangements in Lab for the event.
