A seven day special NSS camp is going
on in the premises of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar and in
continuation with it, the third day this camp was organized in the leadership
of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The third day of the camp was
started, as usual, with DAV Gaan and with the motivational address of Principal
Dr. Sareen to all NSS volunteers. Further, Dr. Sareen encouraged and enlivened
volunteers for putting their endeavours for the sake of noble cause. Kashish
Gogna, Aditi, and Simran presented the report of NSS activities of second day
of the camp in English, Hindi, and Punjabi respectively. After that, volunteers
were sent again to the village Gillan by madam principal in order to perform
their assigned duties and making the people of the village Gillan aware
pertaining to the environment. Volunteers went in the middle schools of the
village Gillan and cleaned the school’s garden and maintained the plants over there.
Further, volunteers made the people of the village aware regarding the value of
their casting votes and wrote slogans pertaining to the awareness of casting
votes on the walls of the village. In addition, NSS volunteers also visited in
‘Anganvadi’ of the village and distributed some eatable things among children.
As soon as students reached to their college, they started to maintain and
clean the historical monument of the college “Punjabi Virsa” under the campaign
of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.” NSS adviser Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Programme
coordinator Dr. Veena Arora and Ms. Harmanu Paul addressed and blessed to all
the NSS volunteers for making the day memorable by doing their selfless service
for the society. Dr. Jyoti Gogia delivered a formal vote of thanks to all and
advised the volunteers to remain loyal with their responsibilities towards
society.
