The Internal Quality Assurance Cell
of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a lecture on the topic “Sustainable
living through ancient wisdom”. The resource person was Ms. Meenal Verma, an
architect by profession and an environmentalist by passion. Senior Most Faculty
Dr. Navroop Kaur and IQAC Coordinator Dr. Ashmeen Kaur welcomed her with
planter. Ms. Meenal told the participants that waste management is very
important, which includes composting. She advised the participants that
vegetable peals should be fed to the animals. Fruit peels should be used to
prepare Bioenzymes. Ratio of Jaggery, Fruit Peel and Water to prepare
bioenzymes, should be 1:3:10. Ms. Meenal told that don’t put dry leaves to
fire, rather mulch them in soil to provide extra nutrients to the plants. She
also told about right usage of compost that it should be dry otherwise fungus
will be there. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that such lectures
are the need of the hour to make people aware about sustainable living. The
stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia.
