DBT sponsored Summer School in Sciences from 6th to 11th
June, 2025 started at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar under the
visionary leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. On the 1st
day of summer school during inaugural Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen encouraged the
students to become part of such initiatives. She stressed the need of
developing skills among the students so that they can find solutions to the
problems which we are facing today especially climate change, waste management
etc. These hands on training programmes are devised in a such a way so that
students get an extra edge and excel in their fields. Mrs. Deepshikha faculty
head Sciences and Dr. Saloni Sharma convener of the summer school welcome the
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen with green planter. Mrs. Deepshikha also welcome the
students who got themselves registered for this summer school during vacations.
Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Head PG Department of Botany and coordinator of the
programme told students about various schemes launched by the Govt. of India to
encourage participation of women in Science. She told students about various
inventions which are the result of out of box thinking by the people which are
providing solutions to various environmental challenges. On the 1st
day of summer school the students had hands on training in Botany Department.
First they visited Botanical Garden and learn about the flora. They were giving
hands on training on instruments like autoclave, laminar air flow. They
performed soil analysis and also made synthetic seeds under the guidance of Dr.
Shaveta Chauhan and Dr. Ramandeep incharge of summer school activities in
Botany. Vote of thanks given by Dr. Seema Marwaha, Course Coordinator and Dean
Academics. On this occasion Dr. Jitender, Dr. Harpreet Singh, Mr. Sumit, Dr.
Vandana, Dr. Suchi, Dr. Simmi, Dr. Sakshi, Mr. Sushil, Dr. Gagandeep, Dr. Gaurav, Dr. Dipali and Mr.
Ravi were also present.
