organized a seminar on Breast Cancer
to observe World Cancer Day under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.)
Ajay Sareen. Dr. Archana Dutta,
Oncologist, PIMS was invited for same.
Mrs. Sudarshan Kang, Head Physical Education department, HOD Home Sc.
Mrs. Neety Sood and Mrs. Deepshikha accorded a warm welcome to the doctor. Dr. Archana Dutta delivered a very
informative lecture on Breast Cancer.
Cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality
worldwide. She listed various factors
responsible for causing the disease. She
explained the five stages of breast cancer.
She also explained various screening methods available for timely
diagnosis. She advised the students to
adopt a healthy life style by taking nutritious diet and doing exercise
daily. Regular exercise may increase the
life expectancy of breast cancer survivors.
At the end she answered the queries of students. She motivated the students to become. Pink Ribbon Ambassador and spread the message
in society to make it aware of dreaded disease.
On the occasion, college Medical
Officer Dr. Aarti Sharma, Miss Aishwarya Kohli and Miss Navjot were also
present.
ਹੰਸਰਜ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਹਾਵਿਦਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਯੂਥ ਰੈਡ ´ਾਸ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ ਤੇ ਹੋਮ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਕਲੱਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਰਲਡ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਡੇ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਬੈਸਟ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਤੇ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਪਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪੋ. ਡਾ. ਅਜੈ ਸਰੀਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪਿਮਸ ਤੋਂ ਆੱਨਕੋਲਾਜਿਸਟ ਡਾ. ਅਰਚਨਾ ਦੱਤਾ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਕਾਰਜ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਪਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸੀਮਤੀ ਸੁਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੰਗ, ਹੋਮ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਮੁਖੀ ਸੀਮਤੀ ਨੀਤੀ ਸੂਦ ਤੇ ਰੈਡ ਕਾਸ ਦੀ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਦੀਪਸ਼ਿਖਾ ਨੇ ਡਾ. ਅਰਚਨਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਡਾ. ਦੱਤਾ ਨੇ ਨੇ ਬੈਸਟ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਤੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਜਾਨਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਰੋਗ ਮੌਤਦਰ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ 'ਚ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਇਸ ਰੋਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਬੈਸਟ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਚਰਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ 'ਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੇਂ 'ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਦੱਸੇ। ਡਾ. ਅਰਚਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਅਪਨਾਉਣ, ਪੋਸ਼ਨ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਲੈਣ ਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਕਸਰਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੇਰਿਆ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਕਸਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਸਟ ਕੈਂਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਜਿੰਦਾ ਬਚੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵੱਧ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ•ਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੂੰਪਿੰਕ ਰਿਬਨ ਦੂਤ ਬਨਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ 'ਚ ਇਸ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਪਤਿ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੈਡਿਕਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਡਾ. ਆਰਤੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਹੋਮ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਤੋਂ ਏਸ਼ਵਰਿਆ ਕੋਹਲੀ ਤੇ ਨਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
