A seven day Faculty Development
Programme on Visual and Performing Arts was organized under
the motivation of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen at Hans Raj Mahila
Maha Vidyalaya. The 6th Day
of the FDP was devoted to Fine Arts and witnessed the presence of Dr. Gurcharan
Singh, Department of Fine Arts, Kurukshetra University and Mr. Rakesh Sen,
World renowned artist and freelancer.
The resource persons were accorded a green welcome by Principal Dr.
(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Dr. Kanwaldeep (Dean Academic), Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Convener,
Dr. Pooja Manhas, Co-Convener, Dr. Santosh Khanna and Dr. Neeru Bharti Sharma.
The
day started with lighting of lamp and recital of DAV Anthem. In the welcome address, Principal Dr. Ajay
Sareen told that the 6th day was entitled as Brush storks and would
acquaint the participants with latest techniques.
In
the opening session, Mr.Rakesh Sen spoke on the topic ‘Play with Colours’. He dedicated his talk to depiction of Nature,
fleeting aspects of colours, shading, new techniques and human expressions in
and through colours. In the second
session, Mr. Sen discussed the depiction and drawing of flowers under the title
Mystic Rose.
Dr.
Gurcharan Singh expressed his views on ‘Transparency of Nature and abstract
art’. He detailed about the various
techniques used in abstract arts which is a departure from reality.
The
day concluded on a positive feedback from the participating members who learnt
innovative ways of using colours to express the feelings and ideas. All the members of the Departments of Fine
Arts, Dance and Music were also present on the occasion.
