To discover the hidden talents in the fresh students ‘Pratibha Khoj-2019 was organized at HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School under the able guidance and benign support of School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal. The students participated in various competitions like Declamation Competition, Poetry Recitation, Cultural Performance, Rangoli Making and Still Life. Students showed their expertise at public speaking on the topics, Digital India, Terrorism – a world wide problem, Role of students in free India etc. School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal welcomed esteemed chief guest Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen by presenting a hand crafted bouquet made by the students with the help of their teacher Mrs. Divya Chadha, Home Science Department. The event commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed by DAV Gaan. On this occasion, while addressing the students Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that every student is unique and everyone possesses skill and talent. She advised the students to explore their hidden potentialities and assured them that they will be guided and supported by the team of experts in various fields. The students showcased their talent will with full zeal and zest.
Declamation and Poetry Competition was adjudged by Mrs. Kuljit Kaur and Dr. Nidhi Bal. In Poetical Recitation, Megha won first prize, Gursimar won second, Gagandeep won third prize and Palak won consolation prize. In Declamation contest, Kareena of SSC II Arts won first prize, Shubneet got second, Diya Sharma SSC II Non Med. got third prize, Bassudha of SSC II Medical got fourth and Vaishnavi, SSC II Arts got fifth position. Cultural and Dance performances were adjudged by Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Mrs. Veena Arora and Dr. Pooja Manhas. In Duet Dance, Bhangra and Giddha by Jashan and Jashan won first prize, in Choreography Mime-Incredible Indian won first prize, in group dance, unity in diversity by students of SSC II Arts won first position, Dancing Lions won second position. In solo dance, Simran won first prize, Ananya won second and Sakshi won third prize. The singing competition was adjudged by Dr. Prem Sagar. In this competition Sargam won first, Srishti won second and Sophiya won third prize. Appreciation certificates were awarded to Rhythm, Ananya and Disha and Palak. Rangoli competition was judged by Dr. Nidhi Bal and Ms. Rishav. Isha and Kriti won first prize, Camey and Samiksha wond second sonal and Divya won third prize. Consolation prizes were given to Laddy and Hardeep, Pooja and Sanmol. In still life competition, the judges were Dr. Rakhi Mehta and Dr. Neeru Bharti Sharma. Hardeep won first prize and Komalpreet won second prize. Stage was conducted by Mrs. Protima, Mrs. Jaspreet and the students, Kumud, Ameen, Kriti and Tarunika Rampal. On this occasion, faculty members of Collegiate School were also present. Mrs. Meenakshi Syal thanked all the judges.
