The
departments of Botany, Zoology, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalya, Jalandhar jointly organized workshop on Molecular Biology
and CRISPR techniques in collaboration with IIT Madras. The workshop was
organized to create awareness regarding latest development in the field of
biosciences. Students were given hand on trainings in CRISPR, Plasmid DNA
isolation, Extraction Techniques from herbs. Interactive sessions on the recent
advances in Bioinformatics were also carried out. Dr. Ankit Singh,
representative of IIT Madras was the resource person. Meritorious students were
selected for participation in national competition at IIT Madras in Shastra
Event. Shanu, Palak, Komal, Prerna, Rashi, Parul and Arvindpreet kaur were
selected for the national competitions. Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen congratulated
the winners and encouraged them to keep participating in such events.
Co-ordinator Dr. Anjana Bhatia said that student of biosciences from HMV
enthusiastically participated in the workshop and kept the session very lively.
Students from Bioinformatics, Botany, Zoology and Biotechnology departments
participated under the guide of Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Jatinder and Dr.
Harpreet Singh. On this occasion Dr. Shaveta, Dr. Nitika, Mr. Sumit, Ms.
Ramandeep, Ms. Harpreet, Dr. Shuchi and Mr. Ravi were also present.
