The NSS Unit of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised a Rally to spread awareness against the
practice of burning Paddy Straw in the fields. The objective of this rally was
to spread awareness in villages regarding the hazards of paddy straw burning. Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen addressed
the students and said that safety of environment is our prime duty. We should take
adequate steps to safeguards our environment. We should use paddy straw as
fertilizer instead of burning it. By
doing so, we can save our environment from many poisonous goals.
Under this programme, the
college has adopted 50 villages. The villages were told about the problems of
burning paddy straw. The students also made poster, wrote slogans etc.
On
this occasion, Programme Officer Dr.
Anjana Bhatia, Mrs. Veena Arora & Asst. Programme Officer Mrs. Pawan
Kumari, Ms. Harmanu Paul & Mrs. Alka were also present.
