1st Innovation Festival held at HMV



Education has considerable power to help create awareness against environmentally harmful lifestyles. Realizing this purpose HMV Innovation Cell celebrated First Annual Innovation Festival as per the direction of MHRDs Innovation Cell to mark the Innovation Day. The MHRD established an Innovation Cell in 2018 with an aim to systematically foster a culture of innovation in all higher education institutions. In sync with the mission a series of competitive events were organised with the blessings of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Co-ordination of Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Dean Innovations. More than 100 students exhibited their skills in Debate, Slogan writing, Essay Writing, Poster Making, Video Making and Case Studies. The topics for slogan writing were Innovate or perish; Innovation is the key to survival, APJ Abdul Kalam an inspiration for youth. The event was conducted and adjudged by Mrs. Pawan and Dr. Shailendra. Shina got first prize, Kriti got second prize and Balwinder got third position in the event. A consolation Prize was given to Kanishka.
The debate was conducted on the topic only Innovation can save the planet by Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Dr. Kulnaaz. Muskan was adjudged as first, Aditi as second and Bhavya and Neha as third in the competition. Consolation prizes were given to Shalini, Rubina and Rohini.
The Essay Writing Competition was held on the topics Innovate or perish, Innovative methods for creating a sustainable economy, Start ups, Problems and perspectives, Innovation and Skill Development by Mrs. Lovleen. Dr. Harpreet and Dr. Meenu Talwar. The first position was won by Nikita, Second position by Gurwinder Kaur and Third position was bagged by Ishu.
The Poster Making Competition was organized on the topic of Green Campus, Art and Innovation, Best out of waste, use less and create more. Latika got the first position, Sirjata was adjudged second, Vishti achieved third position and Jasnoor Kaur was given a consolation prize.
Students prepared case studies on a number of innovative projects initiated by the institution. Ms. Mansi, Ms. Rajwinder Kaur, Ms. Parneet Kaur, Ms. Namrata, Ms. Yukti Dhiman and Ms. Muskan Virdi prepared case studies under Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Ms. Karishma and Ms. Bhawna.
Video Making Competition was also organized in which the students of Mass Communication department made videos and best videos were judged on the basis of their content and presentation.  6 students made videos under the guidance of Mrs. Rama Sharma, Mrs. Jyoti Sehgal and Mr. Shalinder Kumar.
On this occasion Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen congratulated Dean Innovation Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda and said that this is the best platform for polishing the talent of the students. Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda thanked the entire teacher Incharges of various items and said that HMV is known as the Innovation Hub. The college is planning for more innovations in future.
