The students of Physics dept of HMV visited Science City




The Chandrayaan Vipnet Club of Physics department organized one day educational trip to Pushpa Gujral Science City Kapurthala under the stewardship of respected Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Mr. Sushil Kumar, Ms. Simmi Garg and Dr. Deepshikha escorted 35 students of B.Sc (Sem-I) to the Science City. Students participated in this trip with full enthusiasm.    Students watched a show based on serious issue of climate change. Various factors responsible for climate change and their preventative measures were explained in a very interesting way. Students also have realistic experience of being in earthquake with intensity of 6.2 on Richter scale in earthquake simulator. The precautions needed at the time of earthquake were explained to the students. The Space and Aviation Gallery gave the students an exhilarating voyage into the space and provided them with information about the Solar system and many amazing celestial objects making up the universe. Students were fascinated to have an in-depth knowledge of the working of Sun, Earth, Moon and other planets. They also learnt how scientists live in space and cut view models of satellites and various applications of space technology. Energy Park created awareness about applications of various renewable energy sources and energy conservation measures with the help of interesting exhibits and models. The students learnt about the new technologies developed in the area of Renewable energy.  Students enjoyed different activities based on the basic principles of reflection, refraction, vibration, work, primary colors etc. Various laws of   Physics had been demonstrated in a very interactive manner. Dinosaur Park gave students knowledge about the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Moreover, students watched “Everest” an American film about the trials and tribulations involved in reaching the summits of Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak on earth. Students also enjoyed LASER SHOW. The trip was very informative.
