Internal Quality Assurance Cell of
Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya successfully organised one day national seminar
on "Learning Progressions in Science and Technology" under the
inspiring guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Co-ordinators
Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur and Dr. Ekta Khosla. The key speaker was Hon'ble Vice
Chancellor Puducherry University. Prof. Gurmeet Singh, a renowned academic
administrator and an internationally reputed expert in the field of corrosion
science and smart materials. The event began by invoking the blessings of the
Almighty with the lighting of lamp and DAV Gaan. IQAC Coordinator and Dean Academics, Dr
Kanwaldeep welcomed the resource person and expressed her delight to have Prof
Gurmeet Singh as the resource person. The eminent scientist was extended green
greetings by Dr Neelam Sharma, Dr Seema Marwaha, Dr Ekta Khosla, Dr Harpreet
Singh, Dr Jitender and Dr Anjana Bhatia. Speaking on the occasion, Professor
Gurmeet Singh articulately told the students to innovate and indulge in
rethinking of their careers. Rather than complaining, the students must create
their own livelihood through scientific start ups. He further remarked that
Indians must be proud of what India has achieved post independence. He pointed
out that Anand movement in Gujrat brought India to the forefront of milk
production. Similarly, green revolution made us self sufficient in food production.
He further encouraged the students to stay in India and find out the ways to
serve the nation through innovations in Science. He praised the efforts of Hans
Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya for being creative and socially responsible seat of
learning. He said that responsibility and rights go hand-in-hand and we should
always strive to do better each day. While addressing, Principal Dr. Sareen
said that in the present scenario, innovation plays a very important role and
it is the prime responsibility of the youth to stay grounded and give their
best shot for the national progress. She thanked Prof Gurmeet Singh for
inspiring the students. The seminar was attended by more than 200 participants.
On this occasion, the entire faculty of Science Departments was present. The
event concluded with the National Anthem.
