Physics department organized one day educational trip to
CSIO-CSIR labs (Central Scientific Instruments Organisation and Central
Scientific and Industrial Research) and Panjab University Chandigarh in the
first week of March 2020. The in-charges
of this trip Mr. Sushil Kumar & Dr. Deepshikha escorted the 31 students of
B.Sc (Sem IV). The visit to CSIO labs planted the seed of research work amongst
the students. It inspired the students to think out of box in order to increase
utility of science and make it accessible to everyone. The students were guided
by the scholars at the institution. Mechatronics lab instructor explained the
importance of a programming based device over exhausting computer work. The
machines that reduced labor cost were designed by scholars. The scholars
explained the combination of mechanics and electronics to create a booming
mechatronics. A large computer programme was designed using basics of C+, C++
languages. The air craft section made the students aware of physics behind the
ride. During the aircraft ride at CSIO, students were explained the details of
how pilots of fighter planes target their rival for attack. Later, industrial
machinery centre showcased some innovations machine that is placed in
industries to reduce labor cost, increase productivity and decrease time.
Another machine showcased how magazines are printed. Queries of the students
were cleared by the scholars. The visit to Panjab University motivated the
students for higher studies. Visit to Rock garden inspired the students to
reuse, reduce and renew the waste. The trip was very informative. Principal Prof.
Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen congratulated the Department Head Mrs. Saloni Sharma and
other faculty members for successful organization of educational trip.
