Wandering adrift in the thickets of corona
affected world, the education system has changed dramatically with a complete
shift to online and digital platforms. Classes and competitions are organized
through e-sources to keep in touch with the students. To unfurl the talents of
the students amidst the scenario, the PG Department of English and Budding
Brontes Society, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized
inter-class e-competitions of Poetical-Recitation and Paper-Reading under the
encouraging support of Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen and coordination of
Mrs. Mamta, HOD, English. 27 students
submitted their performance videos through emails. Some of the Students
unleashed a treasure trove of self-composed poems and recited them, and others
some famous poems. For paper reading, students read extracts from their books
and assignments.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen lauded the efforts
of the department for organizing such competitions to engage the students
saying that the institution is committed to giving the best to the students
even amidst the spiraling chaos all around. She congratulated the participants
and winners of the competitions.
In the poetical recitation, the first
position was won by Sanjamjit, followed by Varanjit and Raunika at the second
position and the third position was shared by Tanvi and Republin. In the paper
reading competition, Harshita bagged the top position with her excellent
articulation. The second position was shared by Neha and Jotsifat Kaur and the
third position was again shared by Samridhi Dhir and Vanshika. The competitions
were judged by Mrs. Mamta and Mrs. Kranti Wadhwa. Mrs. Lovleen Kaur and Ms.
Swati formed the part of the organizing committee.
