International Webinar on “Teaching of English Language” at HMV

The education system has undergone transition to the digital platform as necessitated by the Covid-19 Pandemic.  To contemplate over the situation and its effect on the teaching fraternity, the PG Department of English, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya successfully hosted an International Webinar on “Teaching of English Language and Literature in Post Covid Era” in collaboration with NELTA under the vibrant guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, moderated by Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Dean Innovations and Coordinated by Mrs. Mamta, HOD, English. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen extended a warm welcome to the experts hailing from different countries, Ms. Motikala Subba Dewan, President NELTA, Dr. Tamas Kiss, Malaysia, Mr. David Perrodin, Thailand, Mr. Hendriwanto, Indonesia and Ms. Ishita Sareen Punab University Chandigarh. Mrs. Mamta gave a brief introduction of the department. Ms. Motikala Dewan deliberated upon the scopes and perspectives of online teaching in the PAN World while Dr. Tamas discussed it specifically in the Malaysian context. Mr. David pointed out that online teaching comes as a challenge for the teachers as well as students by drawing a comparison between the traditional mode and online mode. Mr. Hendriwanto elucidated the concept of learning to re-mean in asynchronous academic writing courses. Ms. Ishita Sareen came up with a comprehensive list of current trends and careers for students of English language. The Webinar witnessed a huge registration of more than 950 participants from across the globe and received wide acclaim. Mrs. Ritu Bajaj presented the vote of thanks to conclude the Webinar. The members of the department Mrs. Kranti Wadhwa, Mrs. Loveleen Kaur, Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Mr Parminder and Ms. Swati Suri were also present there.
