Hans Raj Mahila Maha
Vidyalaya organised an International Webinar on “Life Sciences: Deciphering the
role of Human Welfare” under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell of
the college. The Key Speaker of the webinar was Dr. Rajendra Mehta, Head Cancer
Biology Division, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, United States. The
Guest Speakers were Dr. Tanima Dutta from the University Of Notre Dame,
Fremantle, Australia and Dr. Jasvir Kaur, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre,
Mumbai. Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen welcomed all the participants.
Webinar series Coordinator Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda gave a brief introduction
of the college and welcomed all the guests and participants. Dr. Rajendra Mehta
gave an overview of Breast Cancer. He explained the various preventive and
curative measures. He also told that fast food may be the cause of breast
cancer. Early detection of breast cancer is important. Dr Ramesh Arya, Vice President,
DAVCMC also spoke on the occassion . Dr Arya is a famous heamatologist . He
said that the COVID patients are also suffering from bleeding problems. Dr Tanima Dutta from The University of
Notre Dame spoke on the wheat proteins. She also said that gluten free wheat
may be a possibility in near future through Biotechnology. Dr Jasvir from BARC,
Mumbai spoke on Vaccine of Corona. dr Seema Marwaha , Head, Zoology Deptt spoke
at length about preventive measures for Corona. Dr Neelam Sharma, Dean Sciences
proposed vote of thanks. Dr Anjana Bhatia moderated the webinar. Principal Prof.
Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen congratulated IQAC Coordinator Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur and the
entire team for holding the international series of webinar being held daily at
HMV.
