Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized Veda
Promotional week with full enthusiasm. Sanskrit Department and Vedic Adhyayan
Society of the college organized various competitions on this occasion which
included Vedic Mantra recitation competition, importance of veda and vedic
quiz. A feature film on the life and teachings of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati
was also shown to the students. Head of Hindi department Dr. Jyoti Gogia told
the students about the life of Mahatma Hansraj Ji and encouraged the students
to follow his footsteps. Head of Sanskrit Department Dr. Meenu Talwar gave her
talk on “Importance of Vedas” and answered the queries of the students. History
department and Sanskrit Department jointly organized Vedic quiz for the
students. The students participated in this competition with full enthusiasm
and they also made posters of vedic shalokas. In poster making competition, Km.
Chahat got 1st prize, in vedic quiz, Km. Harshita got 1st
prize and in mantra recitation competition, Km. Khushi and Km. Komal got 1st
prize.
On this occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated Sanskrit Department and Vedic Adhyayan Society and said that it is our moral duty to tell our students about the great lives of our Maharishis. She said that our institution has maintained a balance between Vedic traditions and Modernity. We should enlighten our girls if we want to have the light of Vedas in each and every house. Dean Vedic Adhyayan Society Mrs. Mamta said that we should assimilate Vedic teachings. She also congratulated Dr. Meenu Talwar, Dr. Prem Sagar, Dr. Jyoti Gogia and Mrs. Protima. On this occasion, Mrs. Pawan Kumari, Dr. Deepti Dhir and other faculty members were also present.
