Following Prime
Minister Narendra Modi’s latest address of Mann Ki Baat in which he
focused that September will be observed as Poshan Maah, H.M.V. Collegiate Sr.
Sec. School celebrated Nutrition Week. The main objective to celebrate this
week was to raise awareness on the importance of nutrition for health which has
a deep impact on development, productivity, economic growth and ultimate
national development.
As our online
sessions are going on due to Corona Pandemic, so this nutrition week was
celebrated through online cooking competition. 22 students participated in this
competition in which they made nutritious and healthy dishes. The students’
exuberance was evident by the efforts they put in making various dishes like Sprouted
Katori Chaat, Moong Daal Idli, Hummus, Dhokla, Puddings, Nutritious Ladoo etc.
which were relished by their mothers as they performed the role of judge.
Judgement was done on the basis of presentation and uniqueness of dish. First
position was secured by Gurleen, second position was bagged by Harshpreet and
Jasnoor stood third.
Principal Dr.
(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen gave message to students that healthy diet is important for
good health and well-being especially in the wake of Corona Virus. Mrs.
Meenakshi Sayal (Co-ordinator) also laid stress on the fact that people should
be aware of health and nutrition as mental and intellectual development is
dependent on the kind of food we take. She also congratulated the winners. Mrs. Divya Chadha (Home Science
