International Children’s Day celebrated at HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School
To promote international togetherness and awareness among students, HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School celebrated the Universal Children’s Day under the visionary guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The event commenced with the lamp lightening ceremony followed by traditional Gayatri Mantra. Students participated fervently and also prepared Nukad Natak under the guidance of Ms. Arvinder Kaur (Punjabi Dept.) and Ms. Sukriti (Economics Dept.). The Nukad Nataks were based on the themes of honesty and respecting the elders as between the bustling schedules of modern family life, the elders are often forgotten or neglected. Students put up great efforts to convey the message to young generation with a hope to bring positive change in the current scenario. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to imbibe the values of being honest, faithful and respectful. She also said that the institute endeavors to impart not only the curriculum centered education but also lays strong emphasis on inculcating the core values amongst students as without a good foundation of moral character education is incomplete. Vote of thanks was accorded by school coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal. She also appreciated the students and said that the students should care for the elders as they have also cared for them once and it is the highest honour when the elders are respected. Ms. Sukriti was the moderator of the event.
