Adhering to the guidelines of PSEB that entail to introduce a new subject 'Welcome Life' to instil moral values among students and preparing them to handle adverse situations in life, HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School organized a virtual lecture series on the topic “Gratifying life with optimism” under the visionary guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Mrs. Susan Anand, Advocate Punjab and Haryana High Court and former Head, Pol Science Deptt. HMV, Jalandhar was the resource person and the topic was Gender Equity and Prevention of Gender Discrimination. The event began with traditional lamp lightening ceremony followed by DAV Gaan. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen extended welcome to the esteemed guest speaker Mrs. Susan Anand. Principal Dr. Sareen also expressed her views on gender equity saying that students should spread the seeds of equivalence of men and women and they are the torch bearers to bring change in the current scenario. Thereafter, Mrs. Susan Anand awared students about why gender barrier exists and how to break them down. She further added that life skills start from family and said that parents should not shift the burden on schools and colleges to teach moral and ethical values, rather they should play their part to inculcate such values in their children. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and School Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal honoured the guest with seed bouquet and certificate of appreciation. Vote of thanks was accorded by Mrs. Meenakshi Sayal. She also motivated students to actively participate in such informative lectures and also include their family members to join such interactive session which is fruitful for all age groups. Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur was the moderator of the event.
