A seven day workshop was organized by PG Department of Hindi on the translation and computerization of the language under the motivation of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The inauguration session witnessed the presence of Dr. Puran Chand Tandon (Director, Bhartiya Anuvaad Parishad, New Delhi) and Dr. Naveen Chand Kothiyal (President, Raj Bhasha Samiti, NIT, Jalandhar) and Dr. Satish Awasthi (Coordinator Raj Bhasha Samiti, NIT, Jalandhar) as the honourable guests. The key note speakers of the day were Dr. Naveen Chand and Dr. Avdesh Chaudhary (Ex President Raj Bhasha Samiti, NIT Jalandhar).

Ajay Sareen in her welcome address accorded a warm welcome to the guests and
congratulated the Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Gogia, HOD, Co-Coordinator Mrs. Pawan
Kumari and Dr. Deepti Dhir for organizing this workshop. She emphasized that we
should contribute fruitfully towards the promotion of Hindi language in the
contemporary scenario. Hindi is a polite, strong energetic language full of
emotions and we should use it in our daily lives to let the world know its
importance.
On similar
tone, Dr. Puran Chand Tandon highlighted the strength of the language and also
felt elated to be associated with the institution. He urged the listeners to
take a vow to use this language to the maximum. It will lead to establishing
its influence far and wide. Dr. Naveen Chand also appreciated the efforts of
the institution on organizing a workshop on Hindi Language. He remarked that
Hindi helps to link the diversity of the country into one string. He addressed
the students regarding the challenges and problem faced by the language users
in the digitalized context. He imparted information on useful website links,
typing and Google resources which overcome these problems. Dr. Avdesh told
about the contribution of NIT in the progress and spread of Hindi language. He
also threw light on the rules and policies governing the use of Hindi language
in the country. On the second day, the main speaker Dr. Satish Awasthi
discussed about the online techniques of Hindi translation. Mrs. Angha Joglekar
and Mrs. Antra Karware, renowned translators focused on the importance of
translation and usage of correct words along with the knowledge of Translation
Websites.
On the third
day, Dr. Sonia, Assistant Professor and Dr. Samir Assistant Professor from SPN
College Mukerian, delineated about the technical aspects of Hindi language.
They also elocuted on the increasing importance of the language. Dr. Kulwinder
Kaur, HOD, Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala marked her presence by participating
in the discussion on the language and computerization techniques to use it.
