Online Workshop on “Soft Skills in Mathematics” under the able guidance
of Principal Prof. Dr.( Mrs.) Ajay
Sareen.
The Overall
Incharge and moderator of the workshop was Head of Department of Mathematics
Mrs. Gagandeep. As per the tradition of HMV the event started with lightening
of the lamp. Mrs. Gagandeep welcomed the
eminent speakers and thanked Dr. Punam Suri, Padama Shree Awardee President DAV
CMC, New Delhi, Sh. Shiv Raman Gaur Director Higher Education and Principal
Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen who has
been constant support and gives strength
to organize such event. Principal Prof.
Dr. ( Mrs.) Ajay Sareen gave a warm welcome to the speakers and gave her
best wishes to all the faculty members of Mathematics Department and students
with motivational words.
The
first Resource Person for the workshop was Dr. Suraj Goyal, Assistant
Professor, Department of Mathematics, J.C. Bose University of Science &
Technology, YMCA, Faridabad who gave the lecture on the topic “MATLAB FOR
BEGINNERS” which is a high performance software package for computing and he
provided a hands on practical information on the software. The second
Resource Person for the workshop was Dr. Rajni Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of
Mathematics, DAVIET, Jalandhar and she provided a theoretical and practical aspect on the topic “INTRODUCTION
TO LATEX” which has been really informative for the students and is specially
designed to write research papers . Both the speakers gave information which is
the need of the hour for students who are dealing with problems of mathematics
and require software knowledge for the same. The workshop was attended by
faculty members along with Mrs. Navroop Head of Punjabi Department & Dean Youth Welfare.
The workshop
ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. Gagandeep, Head, Mathematics Department. She
whole heartedly thanked Principal Prof.
Dr. ( Mrs.) Ajay Sareen who has been pillar behind every event. She
thanked the resource persons for their knowledgeable talk, faculty members,
technical staff whose support has always been behind the success of the event
and all the concerned people working behind the scene. Dr. Gaurav was the
moderator for the event.
