The PG Department of Mass Communication and Video
Production organized a Webinar on Power of Social Media under the initiative of
Industry Academia Interface under the able guidance of Principal Prof Dr. Mrs.
Ajay Sareen. On this occasion, Mr. Naveen Sharma, Media & Communication
Strategist was the resource person. Webinar Coordinator & Community College
Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal welcomed the resource person and said that the
main purpose behind these webinars series is to provide a platform where the
professionals from the industry and the students can directly communicate and
enhance their knowledge about their subjects. She discussed the importance of
webinar in the present scenario and said that the real power of social media is
to convert crisis into opportunities. Mr Naveen Sharma
highlighted the positive aspects of Social Media and motivated the young minds
to utilize these tools for their betterment. He said that social media has
emerged as the strongest and the most powerful network in the history of
mankind. With three billion users, the impact and power of social media does
not stop online, it has now become a section of a much larger sphere of
influence. He also discussed the role that social media played during Covid-19
crisis. In an interactive session with
students, he guided the students about different startups and guided them to
follow their dreams with the help of social media. The vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Rama
Sharma, Head of the Department, Mass Communication and Video Production. The moderator
of the event was Mrs. Jyoti Sehgal, Astt Prof Mass Communication & Video
Production.
