Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in collaboration with Youth welfare
department organized
a
National Webinar on
“Self
Discovery through theater- Reflections on theatre”
under the gracious guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
who has always been source of motivation behind planning of these events. The
Resource person was Prof. Mahendra Kumar, Theater Guru, SNA Awardee, Professor
Emeritus and Former Chairman, Department of India Theater, Punjab University,
Chandigarh.
Mrs. Navroop, Dean, Youth
Welfare Department and Mrs. Kajal Puri , Incharge, Mahatma Kalidas Dramatic
Club were the Coordinators. Dr. Anjana
Bhatia was the Moderator who gave a warm welcome to the guest. The webinar
started with DAV gaan as per the traditioin of HMV. On this occasion addressing
the students, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.)
Ajay Sareen said that college has huge contribution in providing information
about theatre and its related activities along with the course curriculum
to the students and also encourages them
to take up as career opportunity. She also emphasized that audio visual aids
creates huge impact than any written or verbal form of communication. She
congratulated the whole team for organizing the event. The key speaker of the
event Prof. Mahendra Kumar who has won prestigious awards felt elated to be
associated with the institution. He, in his valuable talk gave message to the
youth to be bonded with the roots and to be a good listener. He gave lot of
detailed information regarding theater and emphasized that youth of our country
should be given ample of opportunities and answered all the queries of students
as well. HMV Alumini Aastha Angrish also registered her presence and she has
been a mimicry artist during her tenure as a student. She mimicked few of her
voices and everyone was delighted to see her talent. The resource person also
wished good luck to her and told her to
continue with her passion A brief introduction of Mahatma Kalidas
Dramatic Club was
given by Mrs. Kajal Puri. She told the objective behind the making of
the club is to inculcate self confidence in participants who prepare for
various plays, skit, mimicry, monoacting and they perform in various youth festival events and various
other competitions and win prizes for college. Few of the videos of students
were also showcased.
Mrs. Navroop also gave valuable
information regarding theater and thanked the resource person by highlighting
his qualities of head and heart. She also thanked the technical team for
immense support and cooperation.
