PG Department of Botany of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized Tree Plantation in
collaboration with Saanjh Kendra Punjab Police Jalandhar. The chief
guest of the occasion was ADC (Development) Sh. Amarjeet Bains, PCS. 100 plants
were planted on the occasion by Principal, Faculty and Staff of HMV.
Representatives from PP Saanjh, Inspector Sanjiv Bhanot, Inspector Gurdip Lal,
ASI Varinder Kumar, ASI Jaswant Singh, Saanjh committee member Smt Praveen Abrol,
Sh. Hemraj also planted trees. On this occasion, SVEEP awareness capacity
building programme was carried out for faculty and staff of HMV. Admission form
with Voter Form was also launched. Special masks carrying the voter awareness
messages were also distributed. The masks were prepared by Fashion Design and
Designing Departments. ADC Development Sh. Bains appreciated the efforts of the
college and said that tree plantation is the need of the hour. It is an
appreciable step by the college. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
motivated the staff & students for planting trees. Mr. Surjit Lal,
District Guidance Officer also motivated the staff & students to plant
trees and get registered in voters list. Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Head PG department
of Botany said that this season is most appropriate for plantations and maximum
plantations should be carried out in this season. On this occasion, Dr.
Kanwaldeep Kaur, Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Shaveta Chauhan, Mrs.
Ramandeep, Ms. Harpreet, Dr. Shuchi, Superinendents Mr. Raman Behl, Mr. Pankaj
Jyoti, Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Mr. Ravi Maini and other members of teaching and
non teaching staff were present.
