The Design Department of Hans Raj
Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar celebrated National Handloom Day by conducting
a one day Handloom Workshop for the students of Design, Fine Arts &
Multimedia. Dr. Rakhi Mehta, Head Design Department was the Resource Person. She demonstrated the
handloom operations and importance of Handloom Fabrics in our life. Various
Handloom fabrics like Banaras Brocades, Khadi, Kanjivaram etc. were discussed
in detail during the workshop. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen
encouraged the students. She said that in our life we should give importance to
Handloom fabrics. Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics, Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, IQAC Coordinator,
Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovations
& Dr. Neeru Bharti Sharma, Head Fine Arts Department were present at the
time of workshop.
