The NSS Unit of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar celebrated International Women Day under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr. Jasleen Sethi, Coordinator Women Congress, Jalandhar. Mrs. Kanchan Thakur, President Women Congress, Jalandhar. In addition, Mrs. Mamta Sahni, Ms. Surjit Kaur, Ms. Ranjit Kaur, Ms. Kamlesh Rani, Mr. Rajan Kumar, Mr. Rajdeep Singh, members Punjab Sports Department, Congress Pradesh Committee were also present. The programme started with Gayatri Mantra and the guests were welcomed with Planters and Cards prepared by NSS Volunteers. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated all on the occasion of Women’s Day and said that it is the need of the hour to change our mental setup. We should establish equality of men and women in the society so that a developed and healthy society can be created. Dr. Jasleen Sethi also shared her views and motivated the young students to be aware towards their rights and duties. We should change our mind set and contribute in the development of society. Mrs. Kanchan Thakur congratulated all on this occasion. Women Congress gave the slogan of “Main Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti Hoon.” Tree Plantation was also done. NSS Volunteers also participated in Card Making Competition. NSS Advisor Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Programme Officer Mrs. Veena Arora, Ms. Harmanu Paul and Asstt. Programme Officer Mrs. Pawan Kumari and Dr. Meenu Talwar were also present. The programme concluded with National Anthem.
